What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
Throughout my years in school and Trinity College (Melbourne), I truly enjoy seeing how happy and excited my classmates get when they finally understand a specific topic. It's like they had unlocked a new part of their brain.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
My style of teaching is very visual and kinesthetic, and I also like to make comparisons between abstract mathematical concepts to everyday life aspect.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
The most important lesson that I always give is that it is totally okay to make mistakes during practice, and I encourage them to make mistakes to see all the different ways they can interpret a question wrong. By understanding the wrong results (and why), students can be more confident when they truly know that they're right.

About Exel
An Architecture Student at University of Melbourne.
Being in architecture student, I am naturally incentivised to have good understanding in maths (especially geometry) and creative design process. Coincidentally, this also makes me good at teaching theoretical math concepts that are hard to grasp to students by finding creative ways to relate it with everyday life aspects, which they can understand easily.
I've been teaching for all my years in school!
Being that one student who always gets decent-to-good grades in mathematics, it's inevitable that people would come to me to ask for help with their math work. Of course, I would always gladly help them and explain the concepts in ways they would understand. And I think this is the most important part in tutoring, since not all students are the same and they can't all be taught in the same way.
I can be calm, but I can be outgoing too!
Another important thing to do as a tutor is adjusting my manners to match with my students. I can teach calmly and slowly to students who prefer such, and I can teach in a really fun way to more extroverted and talkative students!
