What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I haven’t had much formal experience with tutoring, but I do have younger siblings that I’ve always taught, as well as friends at school. What I enjoy most is instilling confidence in them. I believe that often the main reason behind low marks isn’t just a lack of understanding of the content, but a lack of self-belief. I really enjoy helping them rebuild that confidence and seeing them trust themselves to achieve good marks in their exams.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I think one of my biggest strengths as a tutor is empathy. Since I’ve been through high school myself and am now a university student, I understand how challenging it can be to juggle studies and personal life. Because of that, I know practical study tips that can help students not only feel more confident but also enjoy the subject a little more. I’m also very adaptable in my teaching style — rather than following a rigid study plan, I listen carefully to what each student needs and adjust my approach to suit them. This way, they get the best use of their time and feel supported.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
I think the most important things a tutor can do for a student are to build their confidence, be empathetic to their challenges, and make learning approachable. It’s not just about teaching the content — it’s about helping students believe in themselves and showing them that they can succeed. A tutor should also adapt their teaching style to each student's needs, so the student feels supported in a way that works best for them. By doing this, tutoring becomes more than just academic help — it’s about empowering students to enjoy learning and reach their full potential.

About Minadi
About me
I’m Minadi Savithna, a hardworking and driven first-year Bachelor of
Commerce student at the University of Melbourne. As an international
student from Dubai with a Sri Lankan background, I bring a global
perspective and a strong passion for finance. Currently, I am exploring
opportunities to develop my skills in the financial services industry, and I am
eager to gain hands-on experience through Mathematics tutoring. I
look forward to working with students, sharing my knowledge, and helping
them achieve academic success.
My journey
I achieved an A* in IGCSE Mathematics and an A in A Level Mathematics, alongside strong results across my other A Level subjects. During high school, I also led significant projects that built my communication and organisational skills, while earning recognition as an overall IGCSE topper. What truly shapes me as a tutor, however, is my own learning journey — I know the importance of making mistakes, learning from them, and building resilience. I want to ensure my students don’t repeat the same struggles I faced, and instead gain the confidence and clarity I once wished someone had instilled in me. My goal is to not only teach maths but also to help students believe in their abilities and reach their full potential.
