I believe the most important thing a tutor can do for a student is to make him confident in the subject he is struggling with. To understand and sympathize with his problem, and to effectively guide him to success, is one of the most valuable roles of a tutor. A teacher’s role is not solely to raise a student’s grades, but rather to help the student enjoy learning the subject and encourage him to pursue excellence in it.
