What do I enjoy most about tutoring? π
I enjoy the opportunity to grow through learning and overcoming challenges with others. Especially the times when someone finally grasps a concept or sees their improvement. Being able to meaningfully connect with others and sharing strategies and experiences that have helped me in a space where learning is really seen as the potential for growth rather than intimidating is in my opinion, one of the best environments someone can be in.
My Strengths as Tutor πͺ
I believe my greatest strength is my ability to listen deeply and think logically and thoughtfully through challenges. I donβt rush to give answers but aim to understand where the student is coming from and help them build confidence in their own reasoning. My passion for engineering and design has taught me how to break big problems into smaller steps, and I bring that same approach to helping others learn. Iβm patient and genuinely committed to helping others grow while continuing to learn and improve myself too.
Most important things I can do for a student π
I think the most important thing a tutor can do is listen. Not just listening to what the student says, but what they might be struggling to express and feel. From there, itβs about fostering a mindset of growth to help them see that challenges arenβt roadblocks, but stepping stones. I always work towards creating a space where students feel safe to ask questions, make mistakes, keep trying, and never give up on themselves. In my eyes, encouraging reflection, helping students develop the determination to grow through challenges, and celebrating every step forward is key for a tutor to do.
