What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
The thing I enjoy most about tutoring is seeing my students grasp concepts they were unsure of or found difficult. The joy they feel when everything starts to make sense is something I share and genuinely enjoy.
I also love watching students set goals and work hard to achieve them during class. Seeing their confidence grow with each milestone is truly rewarding.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
One of my key strengths is my experience. I’ve taken the selective entry exam (and passed, gaining admission to MHS), completed my VCE exams, and now study maths and physics in engineering at Monash University. I believe these experiences allow me to guide students not only with content, but also with strategies that helped me succeed.
Another strength is my time management. I stay on top of my studies and extracurriculars such as casual basketball, which helps me stay organized and consistent in my work. I’m also patient, adaptable, and able to explain concepts in simple and clear ways that
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
The most important thing a tutor can do is build a positive and supportive relationship with their students. When students feel comfortable and respected, they learn better and are more open to asking for help during and outside of class (which is vital).
From my own experience, being able to reach out to tutors outside of class made a big difference. I aim to be that approachable person students can come to whenever they need guidance or support.

About PASINDU
Strong Maths Background with Real Classroom Experience
Pasindu brings a solid maths foundation, having achieved results in the top band for both General Maths and Maths Methods in his senior schooling. He is now studying a combined Engineering and Commerce degree, which keeps his maths skills sharp and practical. As an assistant tutor, he has already supported students with classwork and homework, marked tests, and explained tricky concepts in clear, everyday language, giving him hands-on experience with the kinds of challenges school students actually face.
Flexible Teaching Style That Puts Students at Ease
This tutor has learned to adjust his teaching methods to suit different learners, using multiple explanations, step-by-step breakdowns, and casual conversation to keep students relaxed and engaged. In his previous tutoring role, he regularly offered constructive feedback on tests, helping students understand not just what was wrong, but how to improve next time. Parents can expect lessons that are structured but friendly, where students feel comfortable asking questions and building confidence over time.
Empathetic Communicator with Wider Interests
Pasindu’s experience supporting residents in a care community has strengthened his patience, empathy and ability to build rapport one-on-one—qualities that carry directly into his tutoring sessions. His involvement in a global issues club and a railway interest group shows he is curious, community-minded and able to connect with students who have varied interests. He uses these broader experiences to relate maths problems to real-life situations, making learning feel more relevant and enjoyable for primary and high school students.
