What do I enjoy most about tutoring? π
Being a tutor, I quickly came to appreciate witnessing the growth of students, both in their confidence and in their learning. I deeply value education and enjoy learning so, I find it rewarding to share this passion with students. Specifically, through adjusting my teaching to their different needs, this fosters an environment where students feel comfortable and confident in their abilities, allowing them to grow and achieve their academic goals.
My Strengths as Tutor πͺ
Whilst tutoring requires strong communication, listening remains equally valuable for being a good tutor. I am confident in my ability to effectively articulate my understanding of various topics in a lucid and accessible manner but, more importantly, I pride myself on being a great listener. This offers a space for students to communicate their own understanding, and in so doing, reflect their strengths and weaknesses, which is crucial for allowing me to facilitate their growth.
Most important things I can do for a student π
A tutor can enable students to grow academically, but also as individuals, through instilling a greater sense of confidence, initiative and proactiveness. Through effective teaching, tutors can allow students to connect with the power and excitement of learning, irrespective of their academic abilities. Generating a shared passion for education, this equips students to remain driven and persistent in their approach to challenges, beyond their academic pursuits.

About Adele
High-achieving English specialist with proven results
Adele is a top English student, placing first overall in Advanced English and ranking highly in Extension English. She already tutors a younger student in English, which has strengthened her skills in explaining complex ideas clearly and patiently. In sessions, she helps students break down essays, improve creative and persuasive writing, and build strong analytical skills for texts. Adele focuses on giving practical, step-by-step feedback so students can see real progress in their marks and confidence.
Prefect leadership and excellent communication
As a school prefect, Adele regularly leads discussions, organises activities and represents the student body, giving her strong public speaking and communication skills. She brings this leadership into tutoring by setting clear goals with students and keeping parents informed about progress. Her experience listening to medical professionals and patients during an oncology placement has deepened her empathy and ability to really hear what a student is struggling with, then adjust her explanations to suit their learning style.
Creative, organised and relatable role model
Adeleβs achievements in visual arts and her selection as a finalist in a major youth art competition show a high level of creativity and attention to detail, which she uses to make English more engaging and visual for students. Outside study, she plays piano, goes to the gym and enjoys cooking and painting, helping her connect with a wide range of interests. Her involvement in charity events and fundraising reflects a caring personality, making her a positive, relatable role model for primary and high school students.
