What do I enjoy most about tutoring? π
I think through my three years of teaching photography and spending a week doing service at St Charles Primary School, I realised how much I enjoy tutoring. I really like seeing students understand something that once confused them, that moment when it clicks. It's rewarding to know I've helped someone grow in confidence and skill, especially when I can make a subject they once found challenging feel enjoyable and achievable.
My Strengths as Tutor πͺ
one of my main strengths as a tutor is patience, I never rush students and make sure they actually understand the concept before moving on. Im also good at explaining things in different ways until it makes sense for them. Because of my experience teaching photography and helping younger students, I've learned how to stay positive and encouraging, even when they're struggling. I'm organised and reliable too, which helps create a consistent learning environment where students can feel comfortable and supported.
Most important things I can do for a student π
I think the most important thing a tutor can do is make learning feel approachable and build a students confidence. Its not just about giving answers, its about helping them understand how to think through problems on their own. A good tutor listens, adapts to the students learning style, and creates a space where they feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. Encouragement and consistency go a long way in helping students actually enjoy learning and believe in their abilities.
