What do I enjoy most about tutoring? ๐
I genuinely enjoy the process of teaching, especially the moments when I get to share ideas and discuss different ways of thinking with young learners. Tutoring lets me learn as much as I teach, I get to see how students of different ages approach problems from unique angles. It feels like a meaningful two way exchange, where both the student and I grow together. That sense of mutual learning is what I value most.
My Strengths as Tutor ๐ช
One of my strengths is that I am genuinely passionate about teaching. I enjoy helping students understand ideas, and I am patient when explaining things because I am always willing to repeat or break down a concept until it really makes sense. I speak both Chinese and English, which helps me support students from different backgrounds and make them feel comfortable, especially those who have just arrived from another country. I also value independent thinking, so instead of simply giving answers, I try to guide students to work things out in their own way and build real confidence.
Most important things I can do for a student ๐
To help a student really understand what they are learning and feel confident in themselves. It's not just about getting the answer right but helping them see the steps and think through the problem on their own. A tutor should make the student feel comfortable asking questions, even simple ones, and not feel judged for being confused. It also matters that a tutor is patient enough to adjust the way they explain things. Also, encouraging students, noticing their small improvements and showing that you believe in them can really

About Wantong
My change in attitude for math study
I actually didnโt like maths very much at first. It felt boring when I tried to study everything on my own. But in Year 10, I started working through questions with my classmates, and that completely changed things for me. Talking things out and solving problems together made maths so much more interesting, and it helped me improve a lot. Thatโs why I want to share this experience with you, so you can discover that maths can be fun and surprising too.
How to maintain a positive mindset about study since young
When I was young, I never attended tutoring classes. It was really my teachersโ encouraging and supportive approach that helped me stay self-disciplined and motivated. Because of that, I never saw studying or doing homework as something painful or burdensome in primary school. Instead, I learned to enjoy the process and take satisfaction in completing each task.
