What do I enjoy most about tutoring? π
I love seeing people genuinely understand something after struggling for so hard. As someone who wasnβt naturally extraordinary at maths, from my own experience I know what itβs like struggling so hard to understand a concept or question and the satisfaction and relief that your rewarded with when you finally get it. Frankly, itβs that reward that made me so interested in maths in the first place and drove me in the top ranks. Knowing I can help someone reach that satisfaction and interest is what I enjoyed most about tutoring when I took an academic mentor position in my senior years in HS.
My Strengths as Tutor πͺ
I feel like my key strength is my determination on not giving up on people when they need help. I attended many tuitions as a kid and I was usually the one where I felt some teachers gave up on in earlier years of my schooling. Knowing that has created a genuine passion where I see struggling kids as a challenge, not a burden or lost cause. That mentality I feel is one of my greatest strengths as a tutor because I think I can make kids believe in themselves, the first step in achieving anything great.
Most important things I can do for a student π
I think the most important thing is to always go all-out with the kids as in offering them maximum support, advice, materials and thorough explanations. The best teachers in my experience of being a student myself are the ones who go above and beyond for students to give them a strong foundation and encouragement for academic success. It worked on me and I intend on using those same tactics to any students I teach.
