What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
What I enjoy most about tutoring is being able to see students grow in confidence and begin to genuinely enjoy learning and being curious about the subjects that we do together, especially in areas that they have found intimidating to start with. As someone who has benefited from such mentors in the past, I value the opportunity to play a similar role for others and to help them develop both academically and personally.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
One of my biggest strengths as a tutor is after over 350 hours of tutoring, I have become adept at adapting my teaching style and my explanations of different concepts to different students. I believe that this is one of the key differences between a teacher and a tutor, where a good tutor is able to cater to the specific needs of an individual student.
I am also organised and proactive, regularly communicating with both students and parents about progress and strategies for improvement.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
I think the most important thing that a tutor can do for a student is be supportive and caring of a student's particular needs or circumstances. It is incredibly important that tutors make students feel comfortable and confident to ask questions, push themselves, make mistakes and learn from those mistakes. Often, more so than rigorous academic help students just need to gain some confidence and self-esteem and it is the tutor's job to recognise when that is and facilitate to that.
