What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

I find tutoring most rewarding when I see the satisfaction students feel after finally understanding a concept they were initially stuck on. Over time, as I work closely with them, I watch their confidence grow and see them become more resilient in their learning. Tutoring also allows me to form meaningful connections with students from different year levels while continually improving my communication skills through explaining and teaching concepts. Being able to support both academic growth and personal confidence is incredibly fulfilling to me.

My Strengths as Tutor πŸ’ͺ

I aim to build a fun and relaxed relationship with my student that feels supportive rather than intimidating, as traditional classroom settings can sometimes feel overwhelming. As a recent high school graduate, I understand what it’s like to struggle with certain subjects, which helps me connect with students on a personal level. I also think it's super important to help students understand the underlying concepts (why an answer works), rather than relying solely on memorisation or repetitive practice. I believe this encourages more independence and critical thinking.

Most important things I can do for a student πŸ…

I believe one of the most important things a tutor can do is create a safe and supportive space where students can learn at their own pace. In school, students may feel pressured to keep up or worry that they are β€œnot good enoughÒ€ which can impact their confidence and mindset. A tutor should be patient and encouraging, making it clear that mistakes are a natural part of learning. By fostering this environment, tutors can help students build confidence and develop the skills they need to succeed independently.
