What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I enjoy witnessing that split second when a student moves from confusion to clarity. Coming from a sports background, I see it like coaching: there is a huge satisfaction in helping someone drill a technique they struggled with until it suddenly clicks. I also love demystifying subjects like math and coding; many students find them intimidating, and I enjoy showing them that with the right breakdown, these subjects are actually just logical puzzles they can solve
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
My main strengths are patience and decomposition. In my field of study, programming and data science, we have to break complex problems into small, executable steps. I apply this to tutoring by breaking down big, scary concepts into manageable pieces. I don’t get frustrated when a student doesn’t understand something immediately; I just look for a new angle to explain it
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
I believe the most important thing a tutor can do is make themselves obsolete. My goal isn’t just to help them pass the next exam, but to help them build the confidence and study habits to learn on their own. A tutor should provide a psychologically safe environment where it’s okay to say ‘I don’t know’ or make mistakes without judgment. Once a student feels safe to fail, they become willing to try harder problems, and that is where the real learning happens
