What do I enjoy most about tutoring? π
As tutoring was such a pivotal tool in my learning journey, I want to give back the knowledge I had gain from the experience. II value the opportunity to adapt explanations to each studentβs learning style and support them in building strong foundational skills, while reinforcing that learning is individual and progress should not be measured through comparison with others. As a medical student, I appreciate the importance of clear communication and patience, and tutoring allows me to apply these skills while making learning a positive and encouraging experience for younger students.
My Strengths as Tutor πͺ
My strengths as a tutor lie in my ability to communicate clearly, adapt my teaching approach to individual learning needs, and reinforce strong foundational understanding. I place emphasis on building confidence and encouraging independent thinking. As a student myself, I understand the struggles of learning in suboptimal environment, and how discouraging that can be in other areas of one's life. In this, I hope to facilitate that yearning for knowledge again we all felt at one point.
Most important things I can do for a student π
The most important lesson a tutor can impart is helping students learn how to accept failure and use it as a tool for growth. Many students disengage from the learning environment when they experience confusion or fear making mistakes, often due to inadequate academic support or negative reinforcement when they are incorrect. However, making mistakes is an essential part of the learning process. I aim to create a supportive and comfortable environment that fosters resilience, encourages questions, and helps students build confidence in their ability to learn despite self-doubt.
