What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I personally enjoy seeing the confidence of students increase in a subject as they start to understand the concepts which were stopping them from finding any enjoyment in learning.
Seeing initially shy individuals who are scared to ask questions, come out of their shell and start to develop a greater liking towards the subject as they start to get better at it, makes the process of teaching worthwhile. Also as they begin to ask more interesting questions, they demonstrate that they are thinking on a different level and personally, this is really fulfilling to see.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I am a very patient and understanding person so I am definitely capable of calmly teaching students difficult concepts. Also, I understand very well that not all people learn in the same way. This understanding, coupled with my ability to adapt to different situations, enables me to personalise the tutoring experience to each individual, to ensure that all students can learn in an accommodating environment.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
Encouragement. I know firsthand that teachers at school may not always have each individual student in mind when they are teaching a class, therefore it is easy for some people to feel like they aren't capable when at school. However, a tutor can provide a significant amount of support by building up an individual's confidence through catering to their needs and strengthening their weaknesses. The encouragement a tutor can provide to a student invaluable because it not only builds up confidence but it also increases performance as the students begin to develop a passion for the subject.
