What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I enjoy the rewarding nature of helping people understand or wrap their head around a concept previously foreign to them. I remember what a difference having a passionate teacher who was able to break down topics into digestable chunks made, at any level of education, and I immensely enjoy any time I have been able to fulfil that role for somebody else.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I believe that my patience, along with my method of trying to approach the problem from a number of different ways depending on the pupil's learning style make me a good tutor. I usually try to break down the problem into smaller parts, or hurdles, for the student and help them cross them one at a time making sure they have fully understood why each part happens. I feel like teaching students like this helps them fully comprehend what is happening and why instead of an algorithmic approach which may not give students a clear understanding.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
As I previously mentioned, I think the most important thing a tutor can do is to help a student actually understand how to get to the answer. Often in my education I was taught a method of how to get the answer rather than why the answer was correct. I feel like a good tutor does not just aid the student with the question but gives them a thorough understanding of it too.
