What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

Seeing students grow, have fun, and learn something new. It's great to see students do something today that was out of their grasp yesterday. I also enjoy the human interaction, students come up with a lot of crazy things!

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

Making a connection with students and making classes student focussed. That and extensive experience; tutored at final year university level in 2016, currently grading final year uni assignments, tutored students intensively to pass IELTs, 3 years as a youth worker with Indigenous Australian students, too many years as a chess coach of young kids.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

Just be student focussed. Make them think for themselves. It took me a long time in my personal education journey to learn this, but once I learnt it, I make sure my students don't make the mistake of learning passively. They need to get involved, think for themselves, and this way they'll not only retain what they learn, but grow more broadly than in the particular subject area at hand. It really does depend on the student. To give an example, teaching English once a week at the Hue University of Medicine, I just tried to get students to laugh, have fun and lose their fear.
