What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
The one factor that excites me the most about tutoring is being able to see clear progress in the work ethic and results of students. Whether it is simply understanding a concept or improving in exam grades, such progress is reflective of the job that I have done in effectively teaching content, and seeing these improvements only motivates me further to maintaining a high standard of coaching. Also, I enjoy the process of getting to know students and providing them with realistic advice from my own experiences, whether it may be social or academic tips that will help with their own path.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I think that I possess many upsides as a tutor, particularly for primary and high school students. Firstly, I am able to confidently relate to the experiences of students in this demographic, having successfully sat all major entrance-level exams such as the Selective Schools and Higher School Certificate. For students looking to grasp these opportunities, I am well-equipped and understanding of the necessary skills needed to perform well academically. Another personal strength is that I am very invested in the wellbeing of students, and take significant steps to know them personally.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
The most important thing that a tutor can do is to support their student(s) throughout there academic journey, whether it is providing situational advice and helping them understand the reality (and/or any consequences) of their academic performance, or providing effective coaching on particular concepts/aspects which may be troubling them. An academic tutor must always help students realise the true scope of things, especially at a primary-high school level, as often a single disappointing performance/outcome may lead to a further downwards spiral, despite the relative insignificance of such.
