What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I personally thrive on academic achievement, and so what I enjoy most about tutoring is aiding someone else to achieve their own academic goals.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I believe that I have numerous strengths that can aid me as a tutor, although the most relevant include communication and patience. Firstly, considering communication I have often been commended for my skill when discussing technical material, and my ability to rephrase so that it can be understood by any audience. Moreover, my ability to communicate also ties into my patience, as I understand that it is often difficult to grasp a concept when it is first taught. Hence, if someone does not instantly gain understanding, I have the patience to ensure that they do.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
Whilst assisting students to gain academic success is largely considered the most important thing a tutor can do for a student, I am not wholly of that belief. Rather, a tutor needs to be able to give the student self-confidence so that they can overcome whatever challenge is stopping them from achieving their academic goals, and further, equipping them with the tools necessary to succeed with any academic endeavor.

Elise excelled at multiplication by parts and seemed to enjoy the reading aspect of the comprehension worksheet. Additionally, the extended response was generally quite good, mainly through the use of certain techniques, including TEEL.
For extended responses, Elise needs to start thinking about her use of language and using more complex writing structures. This comes with practice and being more engaged with her writing and the topic itself. Elise needs to continue practicing timetables, as this is something she should be all over by year 6.

The quality of Elise’s answers for her homework task were good, and I am glad to see that she had really thought about her answers. Also, her recollection of what we did regarding fractions last week was very good, which makes it easy to go a step further with the content.
Elise needs to start using quotations from the text to support her answers. Also, she must continue practicing what we have gone over during the lesson.
Amelie was able to define a function and was generally good at plotting the different types of functions.
Amelie was able to define a function and was generally good at plotting the different types of functions.
What needs improvement is Amelie’s understanding of exponential functions, as well as, how to determine the type of function by using the specific general equation.
Amelie was able to identify where she went wrong during the test and rectify this by solving the problems.
Amelie was able to identify where she went wrong during the test and rectify this by solving the problems.
All I recommend in regard to trigonometry is that Amelie keeps practicing the related problems prior to her final exams.
