What do I enjoy most about tutoring? ๐
I have being told to be a great tutor among my fellow classmates and some of my students. I really enjoy the moment when I have spent a lot of time with my student and finally solving the problem with them. For example, when I taught physics in high school, I always engage myself so deeply into the explanation procedure and the student will always be in the same mood as me. That atmosphere is in which the student learns the deepest.
My Strengths as Tutor ๐ช
I would say my strengths compared to anyone else is that I don't really care what is the answer to a single question. What I really cared is the inner core of the question. For example, how should we approach it? Why should we approach it this way? What lies within this formula? What else could we infer logically from this solution?
I had two roommates back in China who were studying TOFEL. Both of them took at least 5 attempts and failed. Then, after coming to me, I explained to them how oral English is like writing a code, which has logical meanings within the vocabularies and so on.
Most important things I can do for a student ๐
The most important things varies quite a lot. It depends on what the students and their parents desire.
1. School marks are the things that a student would want back in China. It is like currency, the better the product is, the more expensive it will be. All the same, the better a student learns about textbooks, the higher score he will get.
2. If the aim of the student is not the score, but for interest, then the goal could be set much higher. For an enthusiastic student, he or she will be eager for more knowledge in the subject. At this point, a tutor could guide a student as far as possible
