What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

As a student, finally understanding how to do a difficult question or learning a complex concept was the most satisfying feeling ever. From my own experiences, being able to create that same satisfaction for other students is also such a great feeling and very rewarding.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

Particularly as a maths tutor, I am very passionate about the subject and I love what I teach. I always prefer teaching students why they do something rather than just rote learning the process, as it creates a deeper understanding of the concepts and can therefore assist them in answering difficult or complex questions. I'm also a pretty friendly person and I've found that my students warm up to me quite quickly which can make them more willing to learn.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

I believe the most important thing is for tutors to encourage students well and motivate with positive reinforcement. Very often I see students struggle on a difficult topic and this quickly demotivates them from working. This can bleed into other areas of work that they would otherwise not struggle too much in, resisting putting in effort when normally they could work through it effectively. Encouragement and specific positive feedback is a key part of my teaching style as I find it can be very effective in motivating students to improve.
