What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

I was part of a 6 months tutoring program back in grade 11 where I was entrusted the role of teaching students who were a few grades below me Mathematics. It was a very memorable experience because I realised that most of the kids that were put into this program weren’t necessarily bad students, but were just less motivated academically but excelled in other aspects. One of the students I taught was very talented in playing the violin. It makes me very happy to see my students improving, which is why I immediately seized this opportunity to work as a casual tutor.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

I think my strengths as a tutor is that I am very patient, tolerant and understanding of my students. Not only that, my outgoing and friendly attitude can easily make my students feel at ease so they are not hesitant nor scared to ask me questions when they need help. I am also very diligent and hardworking, which is reflected in my academic achievements. I’ll work hard to plan and make a strategic plan so that my students will be able to fully understand their studies and achieve the grades that they are aiming for.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

I understand that everyone has a different learning pace and that our students might not be able to understand the concept of what we are teaching from the get-go. Therefore, it is very important to be understanding and patient, yet stern at the same time so that they will feel comfortable enough to ask you questions but are careful to not overstep boundaries and not fool around. Not putting too much pressure on the students is crucial too because I strongly believe that learning should not be a source of stress but should be a fun and engaging experience.
