When faced with questions that require more effort, Aaron often gets flustered, starts guessing at answers or just gives up. If Aaron is failing to recall techniques and ideas from relevant topics then he will need to put more hours into revision, otherwise Aaron needs to practice both patience and perseverance Often Aaron’s reasoning behind answers are “I don’t know”; for higher year maths the ability to explain working is essential in proofs, and would help verify or correct misunderstandings. Aaron needs to work more systematically rather than based off feelings. Eg eyeballing numbers that sum to a even number. Forgetful, unable to recall anything from previous lessons unless if we spent 5 weeks on it. Even then it’s forgotten after a couple weeks. Gives up too easily, refuses to even attempt to derive a formula, or just reverts to guess and check when unable to recall/apply the proper formula.

If Aaron were to practice and revise the topics covered in his own time, I am certain we'll be able to speed up progress (were not quite able to cover current topics whilst making time for foundational skills) and make better use of lesson time instead of revisiting the same content over and over
