Aaron expressed interest in extension maths, recommended against it but it’s good to see Aaron has greater ambition in math. Aaron has reported that he has done well on the algebra section of his exam, exceplent news as this is one of the most important topics. Able to perform basic probability calculations quickly and correctly. One of Aaron’s strongest topics
When faced with questions that require more effort, Aaron often gets flustered, starts guessing at answers or just gives up. If Aaron is failing to recall techniques and ideas from relevant topics then he will need to put more hours into revision, otherwise Aaron needs to practice both patience and perseverance Often Aaron’s reasoning behind answers are “I don’t know”; for higher year maths the ability to explain working is essential in proofs, and would help verify or correct misunderstandings. Aaron needs to work more systematically rather than based off feelings. Eg eyeballing numbers that sum to a even number. Increasing numbers arbitrarily hoping to get the right answer Note, Aaron claims to be struggling with finance. It’s likely that Aaron is yet to wrap his head around the nuances of exponential powers. Some reflection or experimentation is likely to improve his understanding
Great understanding and intuition for basic cases.
Great understanding and intuition for basic cases.
Easily confused when faced with less basic questions. No rigour in strategy or working. Careful reasoning and having a clear strategy before starting the question would serve him well for hsc
Able to perform calculations at standard maths level satisfactorily

Forgetful, unable to recall anything from previous lessons unless if we spent 5 weeks on it. Even then it’s forgotten after a couple weeks. Gives up too easily, refuses to even attempt to derive a formula, or just reverts to guess and check when unable to recall/apply the proper formula.
Aaron had a headache but still put in the effort
Aaron had a headache but still put in the effort
Aaron has forgotten almost everything about ratios. If Aaron were to practice and revise the topics covered in his own time, I am certain we'll be able to speed up progress (were not quite able to cover current topics whilst making time for foundational skills) and make better use of lesson time instead of revisiting the same content over and over
