What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
Tutoring can be such a rewarding experience for both the tutor and the student and so I enjoy most that my support can assist a student to reach their full potential and go on to even greater things.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
As a tutor, my strengths would be my communication skills and adaptability/relatability with my students. I have honed my communication skills over the years and therefore I would be able to teach my students in an engaging and understanding manner. As a recently graduated student, I understand that every person has a different learning style and I would be able to cater to each student’s needs and offer them the necessary support and tools.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
I believe a tutor can offer a student so much more that just knowledge; the encouragement of a tutor can unlock a student’s potential and lead them towards consistent success. Tutoring sessions can make a student feel heard and understood which is so important in a student’s journey through self discovery in their schooling years.

Jafar understood well the types of sentences and could easily classify different sentences under their categories. I see so much improvement in his understanding of addition and subtraction strategies and especially with the use of the compensation strategy. Previously, he really struggled with understanding the idea of it but I can see he has really mastered the skill.
A continuing issue is Jafar's forgetfulness of using capital letters and full stops. I remind him with every sentence and he continues to forget, he must get into the habit of using important punctuation in every instance.

Jafar shows a good ability to understand the text and thus he is able to infer and answer difficult questions. He is an ability to think creatively beyond the direct meaning. He is developing a foundational understanding of tenths and hundredths in decimals.
Many parts of Jafar's homework booklet was returned either incomplete or incorrect. We usually do one side of the worksheet together so I know he is able to do it however Jafar seems to forget or not understand how to do it alone. With his spelling also, if he incorrectly copies a word once, for the rest of the week, the word is spelled incorrectly. I would like to see Jafar take more care in completing his homework and asking for help when he needs it

Jafar is developing great dialogue writing skills, showing correct punctuation and depth in his writing. In the math assessment, Jafar shows he has the foundational math skills to answer majority of the questions.
During the math assessment, I could see Jafar attempts the questions using the correct skills and knowledge however due to small mistakes, it can lead him to the wrong answer. He also chooses to do alot of working out in his head instead of on paper which may lead to the miscalculations
