What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I started off Highschool in a support classroom and my goal was to study ATAR in the future. At the time this goal seemed outlandish and unattainable, but through the assistance of my Math tutor I managed to get out of support and into mainstream. By year 12 I was studying ATAR Math Applications and had another tutor. Although this time my goal was different: I was now looking for an 80+ in Math. 0nce again, through the help of my tutor I managed to attain this goal and now reflecting on this, I'm motivated to impart my own knowledge and experiences on students experiencing similar situations.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I believe my biggest strength as a tutor is my ability to relate and understand the students. I too was tutored in the past and I know that all you want and the student is to feel comfortable learning. I am also patient, friendly and flexible which are core tenets of creating a positive student-tutor relationship.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
from my own experience, the best tutors were not necessarily the best academic performers, rather they had the ability to understand me and my needs and then cater towards them in the most effective way. For instance, some students learn faster than others, so it is the job of the tutor to recognise this and adopt it to their teaching style.
