I think students would appreciate when tutors can find a suitable and effective style of elaborating problem-solving methods to them, and then further gain the ability to solve similar questions without additional help. I am very patient and enthusiastic about helping students figure out solutions to questions. I can also offer remote tutoring…

Tutors have two roles, One is to actively support the student who might be struggling to cope up with their peers and/or looking to improve their performance. The second is to make the student learn in a different environment from their school. Schools have multiple children and every child has some issue they are facing. As a tutor sitting 1-1…

The prevailing inherited difference in them is a mean to stimulus the school going students and that can be done by the tutor. Second, Can Motivate on every walk to the student…

A tutor can set high but a reasonable expectations for his students. He can encourage and direct students to achieve high standards. A tutor can also motivate students on their journey of achieving their goals by praising them. Every human being doesn't posses the ability to teach. I think patience is the biggest key factor as without that there can be no way a tutor could help a student. Wanted to take this opportunity to say how great Jeremy is! My daughter was incredibly nervous about having a male tutor but after the first session and moving forward, she feels completely comfortable, at ease and really enjoys her tutoring sessions with Jeremy. He has a very positive attitude and is very kind and encouraging towards Maycee's learning journey and for that we thank you all.... especially Jeremy!

Inside Victoria ParkTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 8 student Ava revised Pythagoras' Theorem and practised solving right-angled triangle problems, then worked through trigonometry questions involving missing side lengths.

For Year 10, Jack focused on expanding and factorising algebraic expressions as well as identifying transformations of functions using DESMOS.

Meanwhile, Year 11 student Mia completed calculus work on optimisation problems and reviewed biology concepts like magnification and population density, making use of diagrams for visual understanding.

Recent Challenges

A Year 10 student often attempted to solve algebra and functions questions mentally, saying, "I can do this in my head," but skipped writing steps led to sign errors and confusion when rearranging equations.

In Year 12 Chemistry, a lack of thorough notes before assessments made it hard to recall details under pressure; as one tutor noted, incomplete plans "meant she had to memorise last-minute."

A Year 4 learner's messy written work in fractions obscured mistakes until feedback was given. In these moments, missed working or disorganised notes cost valuable marks and slowed improvement despite strong effort.

Recent Achievements

A tutor in Victoria Park noticed one high school student who previously struggled with chemistry problem-solving now sets out her plans clearly and completes simple identification tasks almost entirely on her own.

Another win came from a Year 11 student who, after several attempts, managed to get the structural formula right—showing real persistence compared to his earlier hesitation with complex diagrams.

In a younger session, Scarlett used to rush through subtraction but now backchecks each answer aloud and finishes her homework with little need for guidance, recently getting every worksheet question correct without assistance.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Victoria Park Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like Ursula Frayne Catholic College.
