Make the student interested in the subject otherwise doesn't matter how much student try, if he/she doesn't like the subject it would be very hard for him/her to perform well. I can explain a concept with real world example. Every student is different and a suitable approach must be taken according to the student to help him/her. I am good at…

That light bulb moment I discussed above. It’s getting the student to unlock that puzzle in their mind and being able to understand the problem at hand. I find that is the true way to learn. Forcing a student to revise work and memorise is not something I found of, hence it’s not something I promote or work by. I’m balanced in both…

The most important thing a tutor may do for a student is provide them with the resources required to understand a subject in a way that further nurtures natural curiosity. For example, with enough background knowledge of science, students often start noticing things in their everyday life that make them question things from a scientific…

Inside WallarooTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 6 Caledon worked through the fundamentals of geometry, including deriving volume and surface area formulas for cubes and prisms, and received an introduction to sphere calculations.

In Year 11, Anise focused on applying the chain rule to differentiate compound functions and practiced advanced algebraic manipulation through extension questions.

For Year 12, Lewis explored equations of tangents and normals at points on curves, with a strong emphasis on handling the challenging algebra these problems often require.

Recent Challenges

In Year 8, Caledon often forgot to complete assigned homework, which limited chances to reinforce methods between sessions—one note reads, "Caledon had forgot to do last week's homework again."

In Year 11 calculus, Anise sometimes avoided checking working in assignments where time was not a factor; this led to small errors persisting into her final answers.

For a Year 9 algebra task, one student's written layout made it difficult for both tutor and learner to track equalities clearly.

Meanwhile, a Year 10 student tried to impress by using overly complex explanations, which actually obscured their real understanding during class discussions.

Recent Achievements

A tutor in Wallaroo noticed Anise, a senior student, moving from occasional mistakes to consistently applying log laws even with abstract variable-based questions—a big step up from her earlier uncertainty.

In another session, Caledon, also in high school, managed multi-step quadratic problems independently and was quick to relate transformations between quadratics and cubics, which he found confusing just weeks ago.

Meanwhile, Amit in Year 6 has started structuring essays on his own without prompts; before, he needed reminders for each section.

Last week, Anise tackled area-under-curve integration tasks using real-world examples and set up her solutions with little help.

What they say about our tutoring

quote

We undertook tutoring with EzyMaths to assist my son in his Year 12 studies. We have found EzyMaths tutors excellent to deal with, always friendly, efficient and on time, and always willing to fit in with our personal timetable, and I am sure they have made a vast difference to the possible outcome and assisted my son for his future endeavours. I would recommend EzyMaths to anyone in a similar situation. They cater for all needs and I have found them to be of great benefit to my son and us.

I found Ezy Math is very supportive of their tutors. There are fortnightly feedback forms that make sure you're going okay with everything while tutoring. The company does supply you with teaching resources that you may need and offers to teach students are always incoming. Tutoring will definitely develop your communication and skills in dealing with people. I highly recommend other tutors to take a look at Ezy Math.

We are very pleased how things are going with Megan and her tutor Swati. Swati is always punctual, she is very knowledgeable, she has excellent manners in tutoring & in general, and she is helping a lot already in building confidence in Megan abilities to understand maths for this year. Megan is comfortable and at ease to ask any questions when needed during the tuition.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Kippax Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like Fraser Primary School.
