Economics Tutor The Vines, WA
Explain the topics in a way that the student understands, for example some students will require a topic to be broken into several small parts to be able to understand it. My strengths as a tutor are that I am very patient, I am flexible with my delivery skills, I am friendly and I am approachable and easy to talk to. All of these skills I…

Economics Tutor Ellenbrook, WA
For the student to achieve the best possible grade, as well as making sure they are actually enjoying themselves with me, I would make sure they are getting the best academic result however I would want to make sure that they are having fun, and that allows me to have their full attention which makes my job easier as i can teach without me…

Layen has been great so far. My son mentioned that, Layan has been very helpful in working with him on his homework and Math. Overall, we are very happy.

Inside Walyunga National ParkTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 5 Caitlin focused on solving perimeter and area problems for abstract shapes, including strategies for breaking down complex figures.

Year 8 Shania practised OLNA division questions and learned a faster division method for improved accuracy.

For Year 11, Olivia revised logarithmic antiderivatives in Maths Methods and reviewed electromagnetism concepts in Physics, working through targeted revision questions.

Recent Challenges

In Year 9 English, a student struggled to keep ideas clear within paragraphs—"she tries to incorporate multiple ideas and often gets confused when trying to connect them together," one tutor observed.

Meanwhile, in Year 11 Physics, difficulty selecting the correct equation meant progress stalled unless prompted.

In Year 7 Mathematics, another student often avoided writing out working steps, attempting calculations mentally; this made it tough to track errors and undermined confidence after mistakes.

A senior student neglected note-taking during lessons and then found it hard to apply formulas independently in assessments.

When homework was left incomplete, valuable review time was lost.

Recent Achievements

A Walyunga National Park tutor recently noticed a big shift in a Year 10 student who, after weeks of hesitating to ask for help, started independently seeking clarification on tougher maths questions and even corrected her own minor errors without prompting.

Another high schooler in Year 11 science showed new initiative by spotting flaws in an experiment's design—something she'd previously struggled to identify without guidance.

In primary sessions, one Year 4 student, who used to guess at words while reading aloud, now slows down and self-corrects as she goes, finishing the latest story with only two small stumbles.

What they say about our tutoring

quote

Thank you for your email. All is going well with Avi, Michael is making steady gains and we are happy with his progress.  Avishag works well with Michael, she has a mature, organised work ethic, and is a great role model for Michael.

I believe Paige is beginning to ask Jake more questions. I have advised her if she is still unsure of something she should ask for Jake to explain it again or in a different way. I feel she is starting to have more faith and she has advised me she is understanding some concepts a bit more clearly.

I see how much more confident Nicholas is with maths, the teachers at school have noticed a difference, and he is eager to do maths now as where before he wasn't. In regards to Wade, well he is just gorgeous. He has built up a great relationship with Nicholas, and he actually waits for Wade each week..  Wade makes it fun, for Nicholas to do maths. Nicholas told me last week, s" when i get a question wrong, Wade makes me remember how to do it with a trick."  I think Wade explains it to him in a way that he understands it. I think Wade is fantastic at what he does and you can tell he loves his maths. cheers.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Bullsbrook Public Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like Anne Hamersley Primary School.
