Being able to communicate with them in a friendly way, and not making them feel intimidated. Having to understand what study method is the best for them. Being patient in trying to help them understand better is important as they will then feel more comfortable and confident in doing or solving questions. I believe I can communicate effectively…

A tutor should get a student to THINK! and not rush to find an answer! This means to get the students to be able to focus on the content at hand and to use various ways to remember the content and apply the content in different ways to solve problems in the real world. Life experience/work…

Give them confidence- either to have a crack at new questions or topics, or just continue to work and learn independently. Usually this is achieved by helping students find a way to enjoy the subject. I'm a good communicator and very empathetic. I've always been told I'd be an excellent teacher- my habit is to always make sure a tutee has…

Local Reviews

We have found Ezymath tutoring very effective for our eldest son who is struggling in his maths class. Jon (tutorer) has been most helpful in firstly being able to assess his overall understanding and then being able to strategically challenge his thinking abilities. So far our son is really enjoying his tutoring lessons.

Inside WarnerTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 10 student Joshua worked on basic trigonometry, focusing on SOH CAH TOA for finding unknown sides and angles in triangles, and practiced applying inverse trigonometric ratios.

Year 11 student Emily tackled anti-differentiation techniques and practiced solving basic integrals, also touching on related differential concepts.

Meanwhile, Year 7 student Ava explored probability using Venn diagrams and two-way tables, revisiting questions from her class pre-test to strengthen understanding.

Recent Challenges

A Year 8 student often arrived without class notes or a notebook, which made it difficult to keep track of worked examples and review concepts later.

In senior Maths Methods, one student completed a practice paper too quickly and skipped showing working—this led to missed errors, as the tutor observed: "he did not show all of his working, this resulted in him making a few mistakes."

Meanwhile, a Year 11 student neglected homework set for revision and fell behind on trigonometry; forgetting materials meant scrambling during tutorials instead of practicing exam-style questions. This left gaps that showed up when tackling mixed-topic problems under time pressure.

Recent Achievements

A Warner tutor noticed a Year 11 student who used to rely heavily on step-by-step guidance is now solving SOH CAH TOA independently, including worded problems, by selecting the correct ratio and quickly grasping inverse functions.

In another session, a senior student who struggled with differentials was able to recall those skills and complete integrals without needing reminders.

Meanwhile, a younger primary student who often hesitated with sight words is now confidently reading aloud and explaining stories, showing new willingness to tackle tricky words with just light prompting.
