The most important things as a tutor, for me, is to be friendly and approachable. A tutor that is not any of those aspects will make the student uncomfortable and if students will have any questions, they will think twice of saying it. Being friendly and approachable will also make the student feel less stressed with Math. My strength would be to…

The most important things are to build the student’s confidence, create a supportive and safe environment, and encourage independent thinking. A tutor should be able to make students believe in their ability. A tutor should not just provide answers but guide students to develop problem-solving skills and resilience. I think my strengths are…

To help students in a difficult topic/subject and in doing so aid in building their knowledge and gain more self-esteem as their understanding of the subject improves. Furthermore, a tutor can help in instilling good study habits that will continue to serve students in the long term. I believe that my strengths as a tutor include patience,…

Tutor can help the student to grow and enhance their knowledge and skills. Tutor helps in finding solutions to the general problems student face during their studies. I think that my biggest strength is my flexibility and willingness to always learn and try new approach. This extends to my classroom as well, where I'm willing to, sometimes, follow…

Inside WerribeeTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 6 student Ryan revised probability and measurement concepts, focusing on interpreting sample spaces and comparing units of length.

For Year 10, Zara tackled solving simultaneous linear equations using both substitution and graphical methods, as well as exploring quadratic equations through factorisation and completing the square.

Meanwhile, Year 11 student Alex worked through VCE General Maths practice questions involving univariate data analysis and normal distribution, using real data sets to interpret mean, median, and standard deviation.

Recent Challenges

In Year 12 Physics, one student relied heavily on a CAS calculator but did not bring a regular scientific calculator, making exam-style practice less effective. "Using CAS is helpful but it'd be great if Eli could bring a classic calculator next time," the tutor noted.

In Year 9 Mathematics, missed opportunities to consolidate earlier algebra skills meant that during sessions, concepts had to be re-explained from scratch—valuable lesson time was lost to reviewing basics instead of advancing.

A Year 3 learner's home revision focused mainly on familiar question types; as a result, confidence with new problem formats remained low and progress slowed in application tasks.

Recent Achievements

A Werribee tutoring session saw a Year 12 student finally start clarifying which orbital formulas to use in chemistry problems, rather than guessing and hoping for the best.

Another tutor noticed a Year 10 student, after weeks of hesitation, now openly asks questions when stuck on tricky algebra—she used to stay silent but is now quick to seek help and clear up confusion.

Meanwhile, in Year 4 maths, Alice has begun identifying geometric shapes by name without prompting; just last month she'd wait for hints before answering. This week, she pointed out every triangle and rectangle in her worksheet all on her own.

What they say about our tutoring

quote

We have been really happy with tutor and your service and have already recommended you to other parents. Thanks for your help and we will contact you agaIn if we ever need any  more help...:)

Just got Tahli's report. She got 55/100 last report and now 73/100 with position of 2/62 in her year. I have thanked Vashika for her work with Tahli and sorry to lose her next year but thanks to Ezy maths for giving my child confidence in maths!

I've thoroughly enjoyed my time with Ezy Math, it's been both a great learning and worthwhile experience for me. Outstanding organisation and a great company to work for!

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Manor Lakes Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like Wyndham Vale Primary School.
