Business Studies Tutor Jimboomba, QLD
Tutors should be able to aid students on a personal level outside the class. I personally consider the ability to be able to break down complex problems into simple structured steps that are tailored to how the student understands, is the most important thins a tutor can do for a student. This will not only allow the student to clearly understand…

We are very happy with Maham at the moment. Julia is improving already and is enjoying her classes.

Inside WoodhillTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 8 student Alex explored displaying data with a focus on histograms and identified challenging concepts from last semester for targeted review.

For Year 10, revision included trigonometry and applying formulas to exam-style problems, working through specific examples together.

Another Year 10 student tackled classifying scatterplots, reviewed standard deviation using both tables and calculators, and discussed how to interpret variance conceptually while also analysing a real-life mini-assignment on fuel consumption efficiency.

Recent Challenges

A Year 12 student, after narrowly missing a pass in a recent test, reported "most were small errors (ie. labelling units and graphs)" and had difficulty using the calculator for standard deviation—these process slips cost crucial marks.

In Year 10 algebra, reluctance to write out steps made sign errors harder to catch; as one tutor observed, "not following all steps in converting parts of equations" led to repeated mistakes.

A Year 8 student often got stuck at the start of worded problems and needed step-by-step guidance before making progress.

Missed homework in Year 6 left gaps unaddressed by next lesson, slowing improvement.

Recent Achievements

A tutor in Woodhill recently noticed Diali, a Year 10 student, taking real ownership of her maths practice by identifying errors on her own in a practice exam—something she'd previously relied on the tutor for.

In Year 11, one student who struggled with applying trigonometric formulas is now able to use sine and cosine accurately during exercises and explain each step aloud as she works.

Meanwhile, Alex in Year 7 has begun contributing her own assumptions during group scatterplot tasks rather than just following along, finishing this week's homework independently before the session.

What they say about our tutoring

quote

Oscar is finding the tutoring very helpful in realizing he is able to "do maths". He is feeling a lot more positive in general at this time and we hope that the gradual improvement he makes will continue to provide a source of self belief and positive thinking. He is very comfortable working with Kirsty and is keen to continue with her.

I initially chose to work for EzyMath tutoring so that I could earn some extra money while attending university. The company most appealed to me with its flexible hours, and a clear idea of letting the tutor be in control of his own work. You could work as many hours as you wanted, and truly develop a personal relationship with your clients. The weekly modules provided by EzyMath ensured that I myself developed and learned along the way. For me, the greatest accomplishment was the transition into a fully coordinated and confident tutor in a manner of weeks. EzyMath truly turned me into a successful tutor who had a great relationship with his students. It was especially amazing to see that the people I taught were even a little upset when I could no longer continue working. Overall, I definitely recommend working for the company to any people who want to mature into successful tutors. Any parents who want their children to learn in a friendly yet structured environment; as well as working with someone who they can truly rely on should definitely contact EzyMath tutoring! I'm very grateful for this experience and all you help. Good luck to the company for all of its future endeavours.

Things are going well. No issues and Jacob is going into class with more confidence.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Jimboomba Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like Woodhill State School.
