Frankly, needless to say being a good tutor primarily stipulates teaching content in a way that makes it easier to understand. Hence, by default that does become the most important thing an economics tutor can do for a student. This pursuit can be undertaken via a range of supplementary actions such as engaging classes, use of props, and more. But…

Inside WoodridgeTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 8 student Jasmine focused on rational and irrational numbers, practising converting percentages and operating with integers.

For Year 11, Ayush worked through a general maths assignment using step-by-step breakdowns to tackle questions involving financial mathematics such as compound interest and recurrence relations.

Meanwhile, Year 12 student Joory covered key physics concepts including momentum and impulse, examining how momentum is conserved in elastic and inelastic collisions using worked examples from revision sheets.

Recent Challenges

In Year 11 Maths, one student was hesitant to show full working when applying Earth geometry and linear modelling formulas; as noted, "figuring how to show the correct amount of working out" limited their marks, especially on unfamiliar questions.

A Year 10 student approached tax calculation problems but often forgot key steps—"he can be a bit forgetful with what he is doing," resulting in incomplete answers and missed feedback opportunities.

Meanwhile, a primary student tackling times tables could recite them in order but struggled when asked out of sequence; confusion set in mid-task as the routine broke down.

Recent Achievements

A tutor in Woodridge recently noticed a Year 12 student quickly moved from confusion to confidently solving multiple-choice financial math problems, applying formulas independently after some focused guidance.

Another high school student, who previously hesitated to ask for help, began actively clarifying assignment steps and caught up on sections he'd fallen behind in before his deadline.

In primary years, one student started using mental strategies to tackle times tables she didn't recall straight away—where before she would just guess or stop—showing new determination by working through each problem until she found an answer herself.

What they say about our tutoring

quote

We are thrilled with Ross he is so knowledgeable and has a great rapport with James already. Very happy customers.

I am pleased to say that Tayla is gaining confidence already. Courtney is amazing with Tayla. Tayla just sat a test that Courtney had helped prepare for and got her highest mark in months.

I have spoken with Cate who is finding Nikhil's explanation of maths concepts very helpful.
