Tutors fill a different role than teachers. They can build more personal teaching relationships with their students and therefore should aim to:
- Truly personalise the learning experience
- Use connections to the student's interests
- Teach to the student's strength and have the student set the pace
- Work on and improve the student's…
Make sure the student understands the concepts being taught and enjoys learning the subject and is comfortable with interacting with the tutor so he/she can learn more. I understand that each student learns concepts in a different way so I change my method of teaching to cater to each student so the students feel comfortable with…
Actually make sure that the student understands the concepts. To be able to make the student not not intimidated by your tutoring skills and be able to openly ask any doubt they have. My fluent english speaking skills, will help with being able to communicate clearly and easily for people to understand. I'm a good listener so if the student has…
One of the most important things a tutor can do for a student would be helping the student gain confidence in the area in which they are struggling. A tutor can do this through adjusting teaching methods for the most benefit of the student, helping them but not doing it for them and also providing encouragement and support. I have a lot of…
I think one of the most important things a tutor can do for a student is give the student confidence that they can complete problems on their own and be successful in their studies. I remember how disheartening it was when I couldn't understand or effectively answer problems in school. Especially at a younger age, academic success is a value that…
One of the most important things a tutor can do is instill confidence in their students so they can tackle problems they were previously unfimiliar with on their own, as well as perform in high stress environments, such as tests. The best way to do this in my opinion is to go through practice problems with the students untill they fully…
I think communication is one of the most important aspects as a tutor which we could change their of how they solve the problems or questions with a simple communication I’m really talkative and outgoing so I think I could get involved with the students…
Believe in the student - no matter their background and grades. Every child and young adult deserves a good chance at life. Education can be the key. Discipline and ability to balance academic rigor with occasional light…
I touched on some of these points in my previous answers, but as a tutor I believe the ultimate goal should be to provide one's students with an academic toolbox in the form of an understanding of the fundamental principles of any given topic. By covering first principles, and providing students with problem-solving abilities, he or she can then…
The most important things a tutor can do for students is to maintain a good relationship in order to communicate easily, to solve all problems and difficulties faced by the student in the chosen subject, to help increase the grades of the student and help them reach their goals academically. I am extremely patient and always ready before each…
A very personal thing I like to teach my students is to pay attention to the small details. Each and every word, each and every equation. It is the ability to start at a granular level that makes the grand ideas and concepts easier to understand. My strength is really my ability to understand the student well. I believe different methods of…
I think the best thing a tutor can do is help the student to complete their learning cycle. So the student can continue doing it by themselves.
The idea is to be a temporary guide in their academic journey that they need support. 1. Strong background in Maths.
2. Patience
3. I like to listen and motivate students to do their best.
4. Good…
The most important thing is giving your student a safe space by listening and understanding them. Then building trust is next part of the equation.
If a tutor is able to achieve above, students freely ask questions and share their weaknesses. Because they know they will not be judged for what they do not know and you as a teacher there to help…
To help the student to really understand maths, not just solve problems but make him/her see how much maths are important, and make the student feel comfortable and confident for an exam. I am very patient, easygoing and I'll try to engage the student with the class so he/she doesn't get bored, therefore distracted. And I know easy ways to learn…
The most important things a tutor can do for a student are improving their learning outcomes, developing their problem-solving and critical thinking skills, and encouraging them to think deeply about concepts in different ways.
I have over 10 years of experience tutoring multiple subjects including Mathematics, Science and Music. I have…
The best thing a tutor can do for a student is it reduce the fear of studying/learning a subject. Mathematics is a tough subject and it is important tutors take the right approach when they teach that subject. I am a huge believer in teachers being friends with their students. My biggest strength is that I get along with students and try and…
Being a good listener is one of important thing student needs as they wanna be assured you are listening for their questions.
Another key thing is to be patient. They have different level of understanding hence patience is need and also what is easy for a tutor is not necessary easy for a student.
A tutor needs to be a collaborator and not…
Provide student clarity and thorough understandings on concepts they might find a little tricky. Good communication skills, patience and thorough explanations given to a learner of any…
- listen to students' issues
-create 'state-of-the-art' solutions around the issue, instead using general solutions for everything
-create SMART goals together with the students to motivate them focusing during the session - listen to my students fully
- ability to put "my feet on their shoes" in order to understand difficulties wholly
-…
Being a teacher, it's his/her duty to make the student understand any concept accurately with an ease and with great patience. It is not right to shout or get angry on any person if he or she is not able to do any thing, all you need is some time and practice and also some tricks to solve any problem. I am a very patient person and work with full…
1. Assisting them with their problems and questions and giving them hints so that they can figure it out themselves which makes them understand better.
2. Checking on the curriculum and topics.
3. Helping students understand key concepts and making it sure by taking regular tests and quizzes. I am very enthusiastic and motivated which creates a…
I would love to offer some feedback on Derek.
I discussed this response with Jaidan last night and he requested that I let you know that he thinks Derek is AWESOME.
From my observations,Derek quickly created a great rapport with Jaidan which is important for effective communication.
I have queried Jaidan after each session and feel that he is benefitting greatly from Derek's input.
He is feeling more confident and very comfortable to source support from Derek. I could not ask for more at this stage so thank you and more importantly please thank Derek on my behalf.
For now, we won't be continuing but we haven't ruled it out for the future. We were very happy with your service and Jade is a beautiful person! She has helped Keegan with her confidence in Maths and helped improve her grade this year. We postponed tutoring at the end of term 1 because Jade had covered as much as she could before introducing new work, which we didn't want to do until it came up in school. Therefore, we had a break to see how Keegan went, and she's had no problems thus far.
If any problems pop up this term, I plan to get in contact with you and Jade ASAP!
Aiden is really happy with Faraz. He felt a bit awkward the first week but the interactions were much better the second week. Aiden finds it very useful because he needs guided revision (it's not necessarily about learning the content). Definitely a good investment!
