Science Tutor Westcourt, QLD
I personally believe that for a tutor to be effective, they have to be willing to listen to, and learn from, the individual that they are working with. There is always more than one way to teach a specific skill, and, as a result of this, it is important to work together to find the most effective methods. I think that it is important to foster an…

Science Tutor Bentley Park, QLD
The most important thing a tutor can do for a student is to help the student progress in their learning by making learning easier and enjoyable, this is where building a relationship and having step by step instructions based on the learner's needs is important. When a student learns the skills and tools required to solve a problem, they become…

Inside WoreeTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 5 student Chloe focused on area and perimeter skills as part of her upcoming test preparation, alongside reinforcing the division of fractions using worked examples.

For Year 8, Sophia spent time revising index laws and simplifying expressions under the square root, then tackled more practice questions to prepare for a formative assessment.

Meanwhile, Year 10 student Layla concentrated on calculating simple interest and understanding wage calculations through real-life scenarios to build practical financial maths confidence.

Recent Challenges

A Year 8 student arrived without necessary materials for a maths session, which meant the lesson time was used tracking down missing homework rather than progressing to new content.

In Year 11, one student lost a previous homework sheet and spent the session redoing work instead of building on skills—"we had to go through it again from scratch," noted the tutor.

A Year 10 learner skipped completing assigned study questions and rarely asked for extra problems, leading to patchy recall of formulas during revision.

Meanwhile, in Year 6, incomplete homework became a pattern, so class time often shifted toward catch-up rather than deeper learning.

Recent Achievements

A tutor in Woree recently saw a Year 11 student who used to wait for help now arriving with her own test questions and asking for clarification on tricky parts, showing real initiative.

In a Year 8 maths session, another student—who struggled last term with applying formulas—worked through most angle problems independently this week, only checking in when stuck.

Meanwhile, a primary schooler who previously rushed homework learned to backcheck for mistakes without prompting and corrected several errors on their own before moving forward.

What they say about our tutoring

quote

Working with Ezy Math Tutoring is hands down, the best opportunity I could have done for my career and for myself. I started working with them while studying at university, and I found that tutoring was not only fulfilling and rewarding, but it helped me understand little things better, which in turn helped me with my work at uni. Having to teach material that I'd become so familiar with, to someone who wasn't, made me actually think about maths in much more depth. It also taught me patience, to problem solve, and how to explain a concept that I understand very well, to someone who didn't. Not to mention it was fantastic to get to know the kids, see them through school and celebrate their successes with them. After university, when interviewing for jobs to start my career, amid all my awards and achievements, the thing that impressed people the most was my tutoring experience. The most amazing thing is being able to see the difference in the students - not only in their marks but their confidence. It's incredible to know that you helped make that happen. Unfortunately I am unable to continue tutoring with Ezy Math Tutoring as I've started my career as a Software Test Analyst, and it's because of my tutoring experience that I was able to receive this amazing opportunity. Ezy Math Tutoring really has been the best experience, and I would definitely recommend working as a Tutor with them, or as a client.

Ezymath tutoring was a fantastic company to tutor for. They were extremely helpful in a number of situations and were always able to answer a question promptly. The way in which they kept on making sure I was continually trained was a success through the use of biweekly CEP. Overall, I am very happy with having tutored with Ezymath and would recommend anyone to choose them, as a tutor or a student

I decided to start tutoring with EzyMath in order to gain some teaching experience while studying education at university. The confidence and knowledge this job has given me is second to none; working one on one with students can be a challenging experience, but it is endlessly rewarding. I was most impressed with how EzyMath provided ongoing support and learning programs to their tutors, providing us with teaching tips and skills to use with our clients. My best accomplishment during my time as a tutor would have been taking my ESL student from a C- in English to an A grade. I could see how pleased she was with herself, and the sense of achievement was shared between us. I encourage all education students to take on tutoring for extra experience, as it will provide you with a head start that will boost your teaching practice. There are plenty of tutoring companies to choose from, however if you are looking for great communication, training, support and professionalism, make EzyMath your first choice.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Earlville Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like Woree State School.
