Physics Tutor Woodend, QLD
The most important thing a physics tutor can do isn't just to lead them to the right answers but help them build confidence and self-motivation. As a tutor, I aim to help students develop independence. For me, a successful teacher is someone who can guide students to no longer needing one. I am quick to identify the strengths and weaknesses of…

Physics Tutor Raceview, QLD
I think the most important thing I can do for a student is to not only help them reach their academic goals, but also help them understand themselves as a person. Everyone is unique, and thus have different learning and studying styles, and I don't think the education system emphasises that enough. I want to be able to guide them through their own…

My son is more confident with Math after his first tutoring session! Really clicked with the tutor who is fantastic and communicates with me regularly to let me know how the sessions are going

Inside WulkurakaTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 8 student Emily reviewed overtime pay and penalty rates, reflected on PSMT assessment challenges, and practiced order of operations with visualisation strategies.

For Year 10, Noah worked through bivariate statistics and interpreting data for his PSMT assessment, including an overview of algebra links.

Meanwhile, Year 11 student Ava focused on geometric and arithmetic sequences alongside graphing skills, then explored quadratic, cubic, and exponential equations using worked examples.

Recent Challenges

In Year 8, a lack of regular note-taking became apparent—"she left her notebook in class," so key revision points went unrecorded.

During Year 11 PSMT preparation, missing or incomplete homework slowed progress, with the tutor noting more autonomous practice is needed at home.

In Year 10 algebra, Emily hesitated to revisit concepts alone and often avoided re-reading explanations after confusion.

Meanwhile, messy written work in a Year 9 graphing session made it harder to spot calculation errors, requiring extra time for corrections instead of advancing. This pattern left her less prepared when tackling new or cumulative material in assessments.

Recent Achievements

A tutor in Wulkuraka noticed a big shift with a Year 11 student who used to freeze up on mock tests—recently, she tackled challenging algebra questions by talking through her process out loud, catching more of her own mistakes and finishing the worksheet without guessing.

Another high schooler has begun writing clearer answers independently, rather than copying examples; she's also become much more willing to ask for help when stuck, instead of just waiting for hints.

In a younger session, one student showed new independence by recalling how to solve volume problems after weeks away from the topic and completed all practice questions solo.

What they say about our tutoring

quote

Eric has been tutoring both my children for math over the past year. He has demonstrated exemplary patience and persistence in engaging with both children, and has successfully improved their mathematic skills. Eric is always calm and organised, he consistently plans ahead for lessons and adjusts what to teach according to need. He is punctual and reliable, and flexible enough to work around his own schedule and the busy schedule of families. He considers my feedback on how the children are going, and has found his own ways to help them maintain focus for the entire session. I have enjoyed having Eric as a tutor in our home and have recommended him to other families.

The ezymaths company was professional to deal with, our tutor was punctual and very knowledgeable and generally a very nice person. Our tutor identified by the second lesson the areas my daughter needed to focus on and from this time she has been addressing these areas. My daughter enjoys her tutoring sessions now.

Anishaa and I have been very happy with Luke's teaching methods.  He makes it interesting and helps her in areas that she needs assistance in.  Luke has a good knowledge and is doing a fantastic job with Anishaa.  Thank you  for the help you have given with an excellent tutor.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Ipswich Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like Leichhardt State School.
