The most important things a tutor can do for a student are providing guidance, motivation, and support. Tutors should create a positive and encouraging learning environment, helping students build confidence in their abilities. They should also instill good study habits and problem-solving skills. Additionally, it's crucial to foster a passion for…

The most important thing a tutor can do is be patient when a student is struggling. It is essential to set goals for each student individually so they can achieve these goals and feel excited to learn and improve their knowledge. I am a very calm person and will be very patient when tutoring children. I am also very logical, which helps me to…

I believe that the most important thing that a tutor can do for a student is to help them to overcome that fear that some people have for what they think is difficult. Once you convince someone that they can do something, they surely can do it by putting the dedication and effort required. I am a person who's very outgoing and easy to talk to. I…

Grayson has been a wonderful influence on Harrison. They work hard the whole time and Grayson is able to meet Harrison’s learning style. Harrison has said he has never liked tutoring as much as he does now.

Inside Wynnum WestTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 4 student Sam practised multi-digit multiplication and addition in word problems, and used diagrams to draw nets for prisms and pyramids.

In Year 9, Ethan worked through calculating compound interest with the standard formula and revised index laws.

Meanwhile, Year 10 student Grace focused on applying quadratic equations to solve for roots of polynomials and began simple differentiation as it relates to physics motion questions.

Recent Challenges

A Year 9 student often left homework incomplete and relied heavily on prompts during sessions, with the tutor noting, "he prefers I go through questions with him right away instead of attempting them solo."

In Year 11 Physics, difficulty plotting neat graphs online made it hard to interpret results—messy formatting blurred his thinking for both himself and the marker.

Meanwhile, a Year 6 student rarely planned written tasks, leading to half-finished paragraphs and unclear ideas in English assignments.

During a senior session, one learner's uncharged laptop meant lost lesson time; forgotten materials and disorganization regularly interrupted progress.

Recent Achievements

In a Wynnum West tutoring session, one high school student began to check his answers independently, moving away from relying on the tutor's prompts. He now double-checks by substituting solutions back into equations before moving forward.

Another older student, who previously hesitated to speak up when confused, is now actively asking questions mid-lesson and clarifying difficult concepts out loud instead of shutting down.

Meanwhile, a Year 4 student recently started to do basic arithmetic unaided; after learning a new concept once, she could practise it independently with no need for repeated explanation.

What they say about our tutoring

quote

We have had a few lessons with Deanna and She seems to be very enthusiastic and keen to teach Catherine.

Steven has been a wonderful and patient tutor and has really helped Thomas with his confidence in Mathematics and we have been grateful for his assistance during this time. We have been impressed by both the tutor and Ezy Maths Tutoring Company for the personalised service and would not hesitate to contact you in the near future should we need assistance with any tutoring next year.

So far so good. Scott has been great. He is exceptionally patient and really flexible at fitting in with our timetable.
