To encourage them to keep going and not give up, because it can get really upsetting to the student if they can't understand a specific thing after some time spent on it. It's important to reassure them that the progress they've made so far has been good and worthwhile, and that everyone's learning paces are different. Most importantly, it's…

I think the best tutor is one who guides the students properly and fairly not only in their academics but also about life challenges. Most importantly a tutor should be ready to explain a single concept even 10 times to students if they are not able to get that without getting annoyed Well , I'm quite patient which I think is my biggest strength…

The most important things that a tutor can do for a student is to: 1) Build strong, personal relationships with their students: a tutor should personalize the learning, make learning more interesting for the student, and teach to the student's strengths while minimizing their weaknesses. 2) Focus on goal setting, and creating benchmarks. For…

Being more approachable and trying to match their level of understanding to find a better approach for studying is important. Every person is different and so is their understanding and learning level. Being able to match that level and teach them is the job of a tutor. I can be a good listener and am able to identify problems of students as I…

I consider the most important things a tutor can do for a student is to ultimately inspire them in a love of learning and hopefully pass onto them capsules of knowledge which are priceless. My strengths as a tutor are to challenge the pupils to think abstractly about language and harness the true power it possesses. I love hearing the pupil's own…

There are many important things a tutor can do for their students however, the greatest thing is being a supportive role model. If the student is able to respect and understand their tutor, there is a high chance that student looks up to that tutor. Therefore, it is important that the tutor can develop a professional relationship with the student…

Local Reviews

My son is in his third term of Year 6. Up until the start of Term 3 he had a male teacher who he was extremely comfortable with. He now has a female teacher who is new to the school. After a half yearly report & parent-teacher interview with the new teacher it was bought to my attention that my son was struggling with his maths. My son had mentioned a few times there were certain things he didn't understand but I did not realize to what extent as I had no feedback from the previous male teacher & was unaware of any problems. I was told he needed to work on his times tables before anything. I made a decision to find a tutor & get my son some help as I did not want him struggling so close to starting high school. I searched on the Internet and EzyMaths looked professional & I was impressed that I could read the testimonials from other parents. The service I received from my first phone call was very professional & helpful. My son has had 3 sessions so far. One of them being a 2 hour session as we received one hour free which is fantastic. My son is extremely happy with his tutor & feels very comfortable with her. He is so much more confident about school & maths. For the first time ever he actually wants to do maths. He mentioned he is happy because his tutor does not rush him. Financially hiring a tutor is not something I can easily afford but I beleive with EzyMaths it is definitely money well spent. Just to see my son gaining confidence & learning is definitely money well spent. I would highly recommend EazyMath to anyone that is looking for a tutor.

Inside Yatala ValeTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 8 student Dominic worked on understanding integers and evaluating numeric expressions, then focused on operations with fractions including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using real-world examples.

Year 10 student Abigail tackled techniques for factoring quadratic expressions in various formats and clarified early statistics concepts such as terminology and measures of central tendency.

For Year 11, Laura explored trigonometric functions—solving basic equations and applying inverse functions—and began work on introductory calculus ideas like limits and rates of change.

Recent Challenges

Lesson notes for both primary and senior students reflected strong motivation and engagement, but a few process areas stood out.

In Year 12, one student was described as "working on it—clarifying concepts," yet sometimes hesitated to ask follow-up questions during complex calculus discussions, which left minor misunderstandings unresolved until later sessions.

Meanwhile, a Year 7 student occasionally needed reminders to clarify steps when working with fractions; as one tutor noted, "he asked for more exercises but sometimes skipped writing full working." This meant some errors weren't visible right away, making self-correction slower in the moment.

Recent Achievements

A tutor in Yatala Vale noticed that Dominic, a high school student, has shifted from passively listening to actively requesting practice problems—he now regularly asks for new questions to test his understanding and even requests exercises for the next session.

Abigail, also in high school, used to need hints when working with probability rules but now quickly recognises patterns on her own and applies conditional probability techniques independently.

Meanwhile, during a primary session, Lachlan moved from needing frequent guidance to asking clarifying questions about measurement units and degrees versus radians, showing real initiative by initiating these discussions himself.

What they say about our tutoring

quote

Joseph is a legend.  The feedback from Max has been great, and what he is doing is excellent.   I am really impressed with his work and the effect it seems to be having. Thanks!

Oscar is finding the tutoring very helpful in realizing he is able to "do maths". He is feeling a lot more positive in general at this time and we hope that the gradual improvement he makes will continue to provide a source of self belief and positive thinking. He is very comfortable working with Kirsty and is keen to continue with her.

I initially chose to work for EzyMath tutoring so that I could earn some extra money while attending university. The company most appealed to me with its flexible hours, and a clear idea of letting the tutor be in control of his own work. You could work as many hours as you wanted, and truly develop a personal relationship with your clients. The weekly modules provided by EzyMath ensured that I myself developed and learned along the way. For me, the greatest accomplishment was the transition into a fully coordinated and confident tutor in a manner of weeks. EzyMath truly turned me into a successful tutor who had a great relationship with his students. It was especially amazing to see that the people I taught were even a little upset when I could no longer continue working. Overall, I definitely recommend working for the company to any people who want to mature into successful tutors. Any parents who want their children to learn in a friendly yet structured environment; as well as working with someone who they can truly rely on should definitely contact EzyMath tutoring! I'm very grateful for this experience and all you help. Good luck to the company for all of its future endeavours.
