PDHPE Tutor Canadian, VIC
The most important thing a tutor can do a student is listen to them and their needs as well as create an environment whether that's in person or online that is safe, supportive and positive for them to learn and thrive. I have a very personable, open and kind approach when interacting with staff, parents and most importantly students so I feel…

David is very friendly and thorough. My son is already feeling confident in his maths and it's only been two weeks.

Inside YendonTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 8 student Greta worked on negative numbers and like terms in algebra, as well as reinforcing fraction and decimal basics using number lines.

Year 10 student Zoe focused on trigonometry by labelling sides of right-angled triangles, writing sin/cos/tan ratios, and solving for unknowns with calculators.

For Year 11, Josh practised domain and range for functions—including the vertical line test—and graphed linear inequalities to deepen understanding of function behaviour.

Recent Challenges

A Year 8 student often skipped double-checking answers in algebra and geometry, leading to confusion about whether to multiply or divide when isolating variables—"notes were taken on this for test," the tutor noted.

In Year 10, a tendency to rely heavily on visual methods for fractions (such as drawing circles) made it hard to handle more complex denominators or move confidently into abstract fraction problems.

A senior student in Year 12 displayed avoidance of feedback, guessing or leaving blank responses instead of clarifying with teachers during tests, which left recurring misunderstandings unaddressed and increased anxiety before assessments.

Recent Achievements

One Yendon tutor recently noticed a big shift in a Year 10 student who had been struggling to remember when to use sine, cosine, or tangent—now he's not only recognising triangle sides quickly but choosing the right function independently.

Another high schooler has started forming equations with barely any prompting and applies the quadratic formula confidently after weeks of needing step-by-step help.

Meanwhile, a primary student who used to guess at fraction questions is now grouping arrays methodically and checking her answers by counting, even explaining why 6/12 and 1/2 are equal without being asked.

What they say about our tutoring

quote

We had tried a couple of tutors for our son prior to contacting Ezymath but found them unreliable or just unsuitable.  Ezymath assessed our son's needs and then recommended a suitable Maths tutor with whom we were very pleased.  They offered flexibility and a very professional service.  The feedback on our son's progress was also very helpful.  I recommend the Ezymath service to anyone who wishes to see their child achieve academic success.

Thank you for the email- yes Steph is off to a great start and has developed a great rapport with William- he is approachable, dependable and enthusiastic-  - I am extremely happy with things.

It was a pleasure working with such a lovely organization. Not only do they listen but they try and solve the child learning difficulties. There tutors are great and also support the child. My daughters mark improved and so did her love for Math's. Would recommend Ezy Math Tutoring to all.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Sebastopol Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like Damascus College - St Brendan's.
