Any tutor, mentor, educator, or teacher all have something different to offer their students: but the goal is the same and it should be this: to help empower those who can't empower themselves in order to bring forth the best version of that individual into the world. It is through education, knowledge and the reciprocation of knowledge that…

I believe the most important thing is to help students build a strong foundation in the core concepts. By doing this, tutors can then empower students to approach more complex material with confidence. This approach helps foster long-term academic growth, improvement and overall comprehension. I personally believe my strengths are: patience,…

I believe the most important thing a tutor can do for students is encouraging and developing the student's potentials. Each student has the ability to succeed. If they are encouraged by the tutor, they will reach great achievements. I am caring and know how to elicit students' independence and autonomy in studying. I make sure they get the…

The most important thing a tutor can do for a student is teach them the formulaic way of how to study. There is a set procedure that is unique to every individual and subject of how to fully understand and apply various concepts. Once one is able to find that procedure and develop it, they are able to learn much more in their given subject. In…

When I was at school, my favourite teachers were always the relatable ones who were genuinely interested in me, my hobbies and my life. This connection is important for many reasons, not only to be a good tutor but to also be a confidant in times of crisis. In the past I have worked with children who had special needs. Being close to the student…

I think the most important part of for a student to achieve their full potential whilst feeling confident with what they are learning. I believe I can help them feel…

A tutor should be someone who explains concepts in a way that is understood by and builds confidence in each student. Therefore, being flexible and able to provide a unique experience for every student is integral to the role of tutor. A tutor can do many things for their students. They should be able to motivate, support, inspire and teach from the heart. In other words, they should be role models to their students; someone students look upto that inspires them to achieve their full potential. I don't hope to replace the school teachers completely. However 1 to 1 and smaller group engagements would help put in a more personal touch that would minimize the weakness of the student, bring the best out of them and build character (patience, resilience, analytical thinking) to supplement them to succeed in their education journey Analytical…

I believe one of the most important things a tutor can do for a student is serve as a secondary teacher/mentor to a school teacher. As school teachers have to focus on a large class (usually around 30 students), they are unable to address the needs of each student. As each student has their own struggles and needs, an exterior tutor provides…

The students already have teachers at school. Rather than being just another teacher figure, a tutor is also a mentor that travels on a journey alongside the student. As such, the most important things they can do for the child is to be compassionate, patient, and support the child with the goals they want to achieve. I am patient, I take the time…

Local Reviews

We decided to use EzyMath when our daughter started High School. We were partnered up with a fabulous tutor. She made Maths enjoyable and easier to understand as well as being easy going and friendly. On dealing with EzyMath head office on a monthly basis, they were professional, prompt with dealing with any queries and very accommodating. I would highly recommend their services to anyone looking for a tutor.

Inside AbbotsburyTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 8 student Jamie worked on applying Pythagoras' Theorem to various triangle problems and used Venn diagrams for calculating probabilities.

In Year 10, Sarah focused on graphing parabolas by identifying intercepts and turning points, then practised shifting parabolas horizontally and vertically.

Meanwhile, Year 11 student Jonathon revised the laws of logarithms through challenging practice questions and tackled differentiation problems using first principles.

Recent Challenges

A Year 9 student hesitated to start solving questions in class, leading to delays: "He takes too long to take the first step, to start."

In senior English (Year 11), another found it difficult to link analysis directly back to the question and struggled with using PETAL effectively for short answers.

For Year 8 maths, one learner relied on brief, one-word responses and rarely voiced his reasoning aloud—confidence issues limited deeper discussion.

Meanwhile, a Year 12 student over-complicated straightforward calculus problems, causing her to get stuck rather than progressing smoothly through differentiation tasks. The moment stretched out as uncertainty replaced momentum.

Recent Achievements

One Abbotsbury tutor noticed a Year 11 student has become much more independent, now walking through her thought process out loud and explaining solutions step-by-step—something she rarely did before.

In another session, a high schooler who used to hesitate when faced with new question types started attempting every problem on his assignment, even if unsure, showing real initiative instead of waiting for guidance.

Meanwhile, a Year 5 student who previously guessed at answers is now confidently asking questions whenever he gets stuck and was able to finish all the percentage problems in his pre-test without any help.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Green Valley Branch Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like Edensor Park Public School.
