I can give examples that the person can relate to which makes the topic easier to understand. I also know where a student might face difficulties on a certain…

I believe the most important thing a tutor/teacher can do for their students is to help them discover their true potential, eradicate doubt and hone their abilities in what may otherwise seem an impossible task. As a tutor, I believe I can help my students overcome any challenge they face in their studies, by teaching concepts in a way that they…

The most important thing a tutor can do is to ignite a student's curiosity and passion for learning. When a student finds joy in the process, success naturally follows. All students are different, and they have different needs. Providing the right support is crucial in my opinion. Understanding where exactly the student needs help, and…

I believe tutors have the potential to really change a students attitude and opinion of school, a great tutor will not only teach a subject but teach a student to enjoy the subject through sharing with the student the things that make the subject enjoyable to them, and this has the potential to totally change a students academic life. I have been…

The tutor should be reliable, and help them unleash their potential. Students should learn that they are able to do things on their own, hence a tutor should also be encouraging. I am able to relate to the students. I can mold my way of teaching into their liking, and I am prepared. I will think of all strategies to teach them…

Make students feel comfortable. Relatability is so important. We see a huge disconnect between teachers/tutors and students. I believe that an equal playing field with mutual respect creates a unique learning environment and nurtures encouragement. The student can see how the teacher got to where they are, and can realise that they, too, can learn these concepts just as those…

The most important things a tutor can do for a student include: 1. Foster Understanding: A tutor’s primary role is to help the student grasp the subject matter. The most important thing a tutor can do for a student, in my opinion, is provide a learning environment free from both the rigid structure and inherent judgement present in centres of mass education. A calmer, more personal environment allows the establishment of time tables and study plans more conducive to the individual student. There is also…

To help a student walk the right path that he/she desires. A tutor should understand a students passion and dream and help them achieve this dream. Inside BarangarooTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 11 student Ava focused on advanced trigonometry by reviewing her recent test and then moved on to polynomials, tackling chapter exercises and logs.

Year 10 student Tom worked through several lessons on quadratics and linear relations, with sessions dedicated to solving worded problems using algebraic methods.

For a Year 3 primary student, time was spent practising addition and subtraction strategies as well as developing reading comprehension skills through short passages.

Recent Challenges

In Year 8 algebra, one student repeatedly avoided writing full working for rearranging equations—"she said, 'I just get stuck at the start,' and would hesitate to begin unless prompted."

In a senior English assignment, another left their TEEL structure incomplete and was reluctant to link arguments back to topic sentences, resulting in an unfinished draft.

A Year 11 student struggled with domain and range because revision focused only on familiar problems rather than tackling new question types; this left them underprepared for tests requiring flexible thinking.

After setbacks, confidence dropped sharply and questions went unasked, making progress slower than expected.

Recent Achievements

A tutor in Barangaroo recently noticed a big shift with a Year 10 student who, after weeks of hesitation, started tackling circle geometry questions on her own and now attempts problems independently before asking for help.

In a Year 12 session, Martina made real progress—she stopped relying on example solutions and now remembers formulas well enough to solve algebraic fraction questions without prompts.

Meanwhile, a younger primary student who previously stumbled over reading tasks managed to read an entire short paragraph aloud and explain its meaning without assistance.

What they say about our tutoring

quote

I found Ezy Math is very supportive of their tutors. There are fortnightly feedback forms that make sure you're going okay with everything while tutoring. The company does supply you with teaching resources that you may need and offers to teach students are always incoming. Tutoring will definitely develop your communication and skills in dealing with people. I highly recommend other tutors to take a look at Ezy Math.

We are very pleased how things are going with Megan and her tutor Swati. Swati is always punctual, she is very knowledgeable, she has excellent manners in tutoring & in general, and she is helping a lot already in building confidence in Megan abilities to understand maths for this year. Megan is comfortable and at ease to ask any questions when needed during the tuition.

Joining the team at EzyMathTutoring means having the support throughout the teaching period. I choose EzyMathTutoring because of the resources and agency it has to give tutors and students the best support it can. It helped me learn that education isn't just answering the right question but to let students find the answers on their own. The structure and training given to me were clearly aimed and flexible enough to apply to different situations that might arise during tutoring. The focus on learning strategies continue to form my experience when helping my students gain confidence and success.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Customs House Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like Fort Street Public School.
