I believe that the most important thing a tutor can do for a student is to always be there for them. As teachers/tutors, it is not all about educating them in core subjects but being there for them through rough times. We have all experienced what it is like to be a student and sometimes they go through some difficult situations and I believe that…

Be calm and smiley with student. A tutor under any circumstances shouldn't criticize the student instead be positive to him. Give them challenging task to overcome their weaker areas. Be imaginative with student. Always listen to student very calmly and behave more like a friend. Most importantly never ever a tutor should laugh and scold his…

Be creative and flexible with learning styles Every student has a unique learning style and a unique personality. To be effective, savvy tutors determine the best way to reach each student via their learning style (more visual, more verbal, more written down, etc.). Tutors can next make inroads by finding things that interest their students…

The most important thing a tutor can do for a student is to listen to them carefully and attentively showing all engagement towards the student. This allows the tutor to understand what is difficult and what is easier for the student and at the same time displays to the student that the tutor cares and wants to better the student's life. I am…

Most students want to get through the next exam, but I also consider it important that knowledge and skills are reinforced and retained for years, if not for life. Because I've studied chemistry, I have a broad grasp of sciences from biology to physics and maths, and can help students link related concepts in a reinforcing manner. I've also worked…

I think the most important thing a tutor can do is to make the student take an active role in their learning. Rather than simply dictate the steps to take, a tutor needs to ensure the student participates in each aspect of their learning, whether it be through examples or solving problems. A tutor also needs to be well informed on the content a…

A tutor should treat every students equally. Motivate slow learners and help them improve their learning. Patience is very important and never get angry repeating the same response for those who have trouble grasping the concept. Ready to lend ears to their queries. Make learning easier so that they can enjoy learning. I have always noticed myself…

Inside Bellbird ParkTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 12 student Alex focused on converting between radians and degrees, explored the effects of amplitude and frequency changes in trigonometric equations, and used the unit circle to connect angle measures with trig ratios.

In Year 11, Priya worked through applications of trigonometry by analysing particle motion—identifying maximum and minimum distances using functions.

For Year 10, Tom practised creating equations for arithmetic and geometric sequences after recognising patterns, as well as solving longitude and latitude problems to calculate distances between cities.

Recent Challenges

A Year 8 student struggled to keep written work neat and logical—"he didn't write the questions, just answers," making it hard to review mistakes or see his thinking.

In Year 11 Chemistry, one student's report analysis lacked clear links to the research question; missing a comparative dataset left results difficult to interpret.

For a Year 12 Biology assignment, referencing was inconsistent and some experiment limitations were not discussed, which affected depth of analysis.

Meanwhile, a Year 10 student avoided extracting all details from complex worded problems in maths, so equations weren't always formed correctly and steps got missed under pressure.

Recent Achievements

One Bellbird Park tutor recently noticed a Year 11 student who, after struggling with trigonometric graphs, started independently identifying amplitude and period without prompts and could explain how each parameter affected the graph.

In another session, a senior chemistry student shifted from vague answers to clearly outlining how temperature changes impact equilibrium, now using real experiment examples rather than just definitions.

Meanwhile, a Year 5 learner who once hesitated to show her working in long division is now setting out full steps neatly on her own and even asked for extra practice problems after finishing early.

What they say about our tutoring

quote

Kareem is so happy with John. He is very comfortable with him and feels a lot more confident. I can see the difference in Kareem's attitude, thank you.

Kelly is a fantastic tutor & lovely person who clicked with Emily immediately and Emily noticed her own improvement within days. Emily sat her Maths semester exam 3 weeks later after having Kelly there was a big improvement!!! Thank you for referring Kelly to Emily and we look forward to having her tutor Emily for as long as we can!

Working at EzyMath Tutoring is really rewarding. I have been able to work with students to build their confidence and evolve them into independent learners. You build relationships and trust with students so they feel comfortable with you - even if it is saying they don't understand! It's amazing to see them improve their maths skills with increased confidence. Even better is seeing them smile and light up with excitement when they tell you of their great achievements at school.
