A tutor can be a complete role model for a student. The only reason why the child wanted a tutor in the first place was to understand the topic and become well versed with it. If tuition can offer this to the child, along with an interactive environment, it would help boost the child’s confidence immensely. I believe a high self esteem can…

I believe the most important things a tutor can do for a student is to understand that not everyone learns the same way nor at the same speed, and to have a genuine interest and commitment towards their student in order for them to successfully succeed. I believe my strengths as a tutor lie in my trust, patience and perseverance that i exhibit…

Rather than simply providing answers or solutions, a tutor should encourage students to think critically and develop their own problem-solving skills. This might involve asking open-ended questions or challenging assumptions in order to help students develop a deeper understanding of the subject matter. I have excellent communication skills, both…

I think tutor should do everything for his or her students because after the parents only teacher is one person who can very closed for the student. Tutor should look after their students and if they have any bad habit then it's tutor responsibility to guide them in right direction and also inform their parents. Tutor can make hard subject into…

A tutor can guide and help the student in the teaching-learning process. First, the tutor should find innovative ways of teaching learning and different methodologies and engage them so that their learning happens in the best way possible. A tutor should focus on practice and assessments. He/she can share the tips and techniques on how to study…

Most important thing for any tutor is to understand their student well. If they know the students quite well only then they could develop the educational materials and classes that caters the student's need. Next big thing is encouraging the students and help them maintain a positive attitude. Only if the student is motivated and have positive…

In my opinion, tutor must be patient and understanding towards a student. This allows the student to feel more comfortable with the tutor, which allows them to easily tell the tutor any troubles that they're having with their studies. A tutor should also have empathy and be a good listener for the student. Moreover, the tutor should also be…

Personally, I believe in three things a good tutor can do for a student. First, Can Encourage every child understanding their speciality and treating them differently. The prevailing inherited difference in them is a mean to stimulus the school going students and that can be done by the tutor. Second, Can Motivate on every walk to the student…

Doing everything possible to get the true picture of the subject matter to the understanding of the student. In my opinion, the most important thing a tutor can do for a student is to break a concept down to its simplest form. In my school days, I often found this to be the easiest way to learn. If your basic foundation of any concept is strong, it gets much easier to build on that and learn more complex information pertaining to it. Moreover, being…

A tutor has an important role in the life of the student and many things that a student learns from the tutor sets a standard for how the student will relate with his/her studies. I feel being flexible and adopting new methods is important since no 2 persons are the same and everyone learns differently. Inside BentleyTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 8 student Ali worked on finding gradients of lines using both the rise over run method and co-ordinates, as well as solving linear inequalities and exploring parallel and perpendicular gradients.

For Year 10, Sara focused on chemical equations by practising ionic formulas, hydrated compounds, and empirical formula calculations, reinforcing her understanding through worked examples.

Meanwhile, Year 6 student Nia tackled decimals and fractions in geometry questions, using diagrams to help compare values and solve problems involving shapes.

Recent Challenges

A Year 10 student working on chemical equations had not completed the assigned homework, leading to repeated minor errors in writing formulas—"the student still shows some minor mistakes in writing chemical formulas," noted one tutor.

In Year 8 maths, another student's written work on rearranging equations was messy and lacked clear labelling, making it harder to spot calculation errors before moving on.

A Year 4 learner avoided practicing weekly spelling words, so the same mistakes resurfaced during class dictation.

One Year 7 student faced ongoing challenges converting word problems into diagrams, losing focus mid-task and requiring multiple reminders to return attention to problem-solving.

Recent Achievements

A tutor in Bentley noticed one Year 11 student who used to hesitate with balancing ionic equations now talks through each step aloud and manages most problems independently.

Another high schooler, previously unsure about forming linear equations, has started solving for 'c' and graphing inequalities without prompting—she even asked for extra questions last session.

In a Year 4 session, a student who would get distracted during math tasks stayed focused throughout and answered all mental calculation questions quickly, showing much more patience than before.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Cannington Public Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like Santa Clara School.
