Chemistry Tutor Byford, WA
I myself have had trouble with certain subjects in school and without a good teacher it really affected not just my grades but also my perception of myself. During this time my mother sent me to a chemistry tutor who was able to improve my previously weak grades. That tutor was able to give me confidence in my skills again and also obviously…

The most important things a chemistry tutor can do for a student include providing individualized support tailored to their learning style, clarifying concepts, and addressing confusion to facilitate understanding. Encouraging and motivating students, offering constructive feedback, and promoting critical thinking and problem-solving skills are…

The most important thing as a tutor is understanding each student’s individual learning needs and adapting your teaching approach accordingly. Every student learns differently, so it’s crucial to personalise lessons and provide support in a way that makes sense to them. Patience, clear communication, and encouragement are also key to building…

Chemistry Tutor Hilbert, WA
I think teaching a student to understand the content fundamentally rather than just what is required for their assessment is important, especially if they are wanting to chase a career in those areas. I have a good foundational understanding of concepts, and having recently passed through high school and advanced maths units in university, I’m…

Inside CardupTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 6 student Devang focused on recognising and editing simple, compound, and complex sentences, as well as improving his use of plural and singular nouns while reading aloud from Harry Potter.

In Year 9, Kana worked through techniques for writing strong thesis statements in essays and practiced identifying and correcting run-on sentences using examples from Diary of a Wimpy Kid.

Meanwhile, Year 11 student Tom revised applications of the sine equation and tackled compound interest calculations to prepare for upcoming exams.

Recent Challenges

Several process-related obstacles were noted across a range of year levels.

In Year 9 English, one student repeatedly arrived without required materials, as "he brought a different notebook than usual" and struggled to locate vocabulary lists—this disrupted the flow of lessons and left revision incomplete.

For a Year 11 ATAR English student, after failing her exam, she planned to obtain a copy for review but did not bring it in; this slowed targeted feedback on exam technique.

In upper primary (Year 6), Rhianna often erased correct maths answers out of uncertainty—her tutor observed she "overthinks them or questions herself," leading to lost time during practice and tests.

Recent Achievements

One Cardup tutor noticed a Year 10 student who used to freeze on fraction problems now breaks them down independently, even explaining her thinking out loud—something she avoided before.

In another session, a Year 8 student tackled algebraic factorising; after initially needing several prompts, she experienced a "lightbulb moment" and completed the next questions with little help.

Meanwhile, a Year 4 learner has started catching his own spelling mistakes when reading aloud instead of waiting for correction, showing new initiative during lessons. Last week, he finished all his spelling words without skipping any unfamiliar ones.

What they say about our tutoring

quote

I'm very pleased with Carly at this stage Nerys' attitude towards Math has changed already and that's extremely positive.  Carly is always there on time and stays the full hour, she also communicates effectively about any schedule changes. So far so good.

Thank you for your email. Based on the sessions held to date with Ai-linh, Nathan is really enjoying her teaching style. From my perspective she is really sweet and is always punctual and consistent which has really maximised Nathan's learning and our ability to plan for effectively. Thank you for arranging for Ai-linh to assist Nathan.

I personally feel that my biggest accomplishment was becoming a more confident individual with strong leadership. This is as I was a mentor to my students whom all looked up to me and I felt more mature and responsible in helping them deal with their academic difficulties. Furthermore, Tutoring also helped me in organisation and time management in allocating tutoring timeslots as well as homework marking into my daily lifestyle. This is truly reflected in my full-time career now where I am able to handle multiple tasks and commitments very effectively. I had been previously been tutoring privately and felt it would be beneficial for me to tutor for an agency in order to attain professional recognition for my resume and future. During my interview process, my tutoring experience definitely weighed into me attaining a graduate role. The main reason I tutor and have been tutoring for such a long time now is the self-satisfaction I get back from helping others. I love relaying knowledge to others who are willing to learn and feel emotionally rewarded when it helps my students academically excel. I would recommend Ezy Math to everyone (tutors and potential clients) as they're very easy to deal with and educate their tutors with ongoing modules as well as provide supplementary materials to their clients.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Mundijong Public Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like Court Grammar School.
