I believe that as a tutor, I can make learning more enjoyable for students while also making them feel more comfortable and secure in asking questions without fear of appearing dumb. As a tutor, I would be a confidence booster for my students and also help them strengthen other abilities that will enable them to learn better. My strengths as a…

The most important thing a tutor can do for a student is to remember their position when they were at their student's age, the difficulties they faced while learning and sharing their experiences with passion to their students so they do not have to face such difficulties while learning. My strengths which may be beneficial as a tutor are…

As a tutor is paid to improve a student's grades and so that's the underlying aim. But what a tutor should really do is teach a student how to learn better and improve. That means reminding them to proofread, read the criteria sheet before and after researching, and set up study plans that work with them (if that's palm cards, end of the week…

The most important things I for a tutor to do is understand and listen to the student. Not listening can be one of the most frustrating things as a student, where the tutor doesn't understand what they actually need help with, and wastes time going over the wrong content in the wrong way. Being able to understand the student, and then properly…

I think there are 3 very important things that a tutor can do for a student; - Be transparent about how to succeed - Wholeheartedly believe in the student and - Invest in them both emotionally and academically I think my strengths as a tutor are that I am able to immediately connect with the student and I make an effort to understand their…

Inside Carole ParkTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 4 student Ella worked on solidifying multiplication skills with the column method and was introduced to division strategies, often using mental calculations and timed activities.

In Year 10, Jay revised linear relations by tackling exercise-based questions on graphing and clearing doubts about equations.

Meanwhile, Year 12 student Olivia focused on advanced probability density functions and practiced different integral types, deepening her understanding through worked examples and application tasks.

Recent Challenges

In Year 7 mathematics, one student's written work during long division and formula application was often messy and hard to follow, making it difficult to pinpoint where errors occurred; as a tutor observed, "the layout of working out needs to be neater."

In Year 10 biology, another student repeatedly left homework incomplete and fell behind on key content—this led to confusion when revising Specht's Classification.

During a senior physics draft session, feedback was not always acted upon promptly, which slowed improvement between drafts. The sense of being unprepared lingered at the start of each new topic.

Recent Achievements

A tutor in Carole Park recently saw a Year 11 student shift from hesitating with calculus to independently working out the expected value and percentiles for probability density functions—something she'd previously needed step-by-step guidance for.

In Year 9, another student who used to stay quiet during lessons has started talking aloud through problems and now regularly asks questions when confused, which is a big change from just guessing answers before.

Meanwhile, a younger student in Year 5 managed to quickly tell the time using phrases like "quarter to" without prompting, then ordered several times correctly on her own.

What they say about our tutoring

quote

I have used other tutors and tutor services in the past however the difference with ezymath was that I received regular reports on how my son was progressing and also tips and tools to enhance his learning.  The tutoring is very structured and also disciplined which kept my son on track.  Yesterday we received his year 9 Naplan results and he achieved a Band 10, and his results last semester at school were excellent and his confidence and ability has improved immensely  , many thanks to ezymath and his fantastic tutor.

Ezy Math tutoring gave me an invaluable opportunity and experience. With fortnightly advice, support and materials I was able to give my all to my students. The reward being an invaluable satisfaction when the mother heard from my students' teacher that her work was really improving. I really enjoyed the experience and always left the students feeling like I had made a change. For prospective tutors I would say Ezy Maths is a great place to work, they provide plenty of materials, support and the staff are very co-operative and understanding about your needs

Matt was excellent, he helped Josh immensely. I only wish we had started earlier. I now know who to come to for my other two children. Thank you.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Inala Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like Camira State School.
