The most important features what a Tutor can do to a Student are a) Give the confidence that he or she can do it, self belief is the most important thing for any person doing any task let alone a student who is starting his/her academic career b) Understand that a students mind/mood will not be same everyday and understand his/her strength…

The most important thing a tutor can do for a student is help them realise the small learning mistakes commonly made that in my opinion are not useful further in life. Namely, learning my heart or just memorising to blurt out a concept without understanding its core only to score good grades. A Tutor should be able to make the student understand…

The most important thing is to keep calm and listen to them. As a tutor you can never lose your calm irrespective of how many times your student makes the same mistake. You might have to repeat yourself hundreds of times, but that shouldn't be a problem. It is important to understand their questions and respond to them accordingly. It is also…

The most important things a tutor can do for a student are to create a positive and encouraging learning space, boost their confidence, and adapt the teaching to fit the student's needs. Helping them think critically and solve problems on their own also makes them more independent learners. My strengths as a tutor include quickly understanding…

The most important thing that a tutor can do for a student is tailor their teaching to the individual. Outside of a large class of students it becomes easier to change a lesson to suit a particular student, spending more time on a point when a student is struggling with it and ensuring that a topic is perfectly understood before moving on. I think…

Each student has a unique way of thinking, understanding and implementing. The most important thing a tutor can do is to understand how their students minds work, adapt to their way of thinking and understanding, and conceptualize theory for beneficial implementation. I once was a student and understand the importance of understanding a subject…

Simply reaching out. Most students find it intimidating to ask for help. Reaching out and letting them know they can communicate whether it is regarding their studies or not. By far the most important thing a tutor can do for a student is make sure they have a strong base knowledge of the subject by explaining and approaching ideas in ways that they understand and can use practically. My knowledge of the subject matter (maths and physics) is excellent and I\'ve seen and used a number of different teaching methods in my…

A tutor can show the beauty of the subject and make the student love the subject. Once that happens, the student can excel not only in that subject, but can also approach everything in life with confidence and aptitude. I love teaching - That would be my greatest strength. I feel the most important thing a tutor can do for a student is to make them patient, let them know that it is okay to make mistakes and encourage them to continue to learn and practice in order to master a skill. The most important thing would probably be being able to form an understanding of how the student learns, and then being able to adjust lessons according to that. I think also just being patient for that student to have that light bulb moment, and then commending them when they do. In addition, just holding myself somewhat accountable for the…

A tutor can develop a passion of learning in a student so that a student can learn and grow even when the teacher is with the student or not. Its similar to teach a person how to fish instead giving them fish to eat. If student learn how to learn on their own, how to solve problems, and what should be the approach to a problem then it is more than…

Being an engaging teacher and being able to adapt. As a tutor, your providing an outlet for them to learn when they are not getting enough out of their classroom. All students would benefit from having someone go through topics with them one on one to help them understand things better. It's something that teachers are often unable to do frequently in the classroom and is a big benefit that tutors can offer. Especially for kids that feel as though they aren't capable to learn a subject, going through…

To inspire them to think, wonder and understand. At the end of the day, all the work in the learning process is done by the student, my main goal as a tutor is to get them started in such process, to catalyse the natural drive we all have to understand the world around us. I always aim to be enthusiastic, patient and empathetic, trying to…

I think that as a tutor, it is important to not take the "one fits all" approach for lessons. Rather, it is important for tutors to be flexible, as the way in which students learn best varies widely. A good tutor can pick up on the learning style of their students, and subsequently adapt their lessons to ensure maximum growth and improvement. As a…

Local Reviews

Ezy Math Tutoring have been extremely helpful and easy to deal with. Very professional with their communication and efforts to find the right tutors to fit my son's needs. The tutors themselves have made a big difference to my son's school performance and have always been reliable, knowledgeable, relatable and friendly. Highly Recommend.

Inside ChadstoneTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 3 Mason practiced reading comprehension by answering questions about short stories and tackled subtraction problems from his maths workbook, also focusing on letter formation in handwriting.

In Year 11, Ash reviewed dramatic techniques in Greek tragedy—exploring catharsis and the tragic hero—and studied leadership styles and organisational structures for business management using real-world examples.

Another session with Ash (Year 12) focused on applying business management concepts to exam-style case study scenarios, discussing how different organisational approaches impact outcomes.

Recent Challenges

A Year 12 student preparing for Business Management SACs struggled with time management, leaving some exam questions unfinished and rushing essay structure—"needed more precise argument progression," one note read.

In Psychology, another senior hesitated to put definitions in their own words, making revision less effective.

A Year 9 student's homework was repeatedly incomplete; when asked about it, they admitted motivation had dropped after missing earlier deadlines.

In Years 3–4 maths, several students avoided writing working for addition and subtraction problems ("did the maths in his head and couldn't explain reasoning"), leading to confusion and slow progress when faced with new question types.

Recent Achievements

Ash has started setting her own goals and now organises all her work ahead of time—something she hadn't done before—so she's fully prepared for assessments in business management.

In Year 11 English, another student who used to struggle with structuring essays was able to funnel her ideas into three clear topic sentences during an essay planning session.

Meanwhile, Mason managed to read two chapters aloud of an illustrated novel with minimal help after previously needing frequent prompting on each page.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Phoenix Park Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like Salesian College Chadstone.
