Tutors first need to have great communication skills and need to unpack complex concepts concisely and easily. Tutors needs to also understand general psychology in students. Some students already have lots of pre-existing motivation while some need extra encouragement. Being able to identify their needs and current situation will help tutors…

The most important thing I would say, would be to cater to each student's unique method of learning. There are many ways of digesting information and of understanding, many students struggle in school because they are forced to fit into only one or two ways of studying and learning, which may not be the most helpful for them. I as a tutor, pay…

In my experience the most important thing i can do for a student is to make them feel comfortable asking questions. Many students need the same topic explained in 2 or 3 different ways. If a student does not feel comfortable saying they do not understand then they will pretend to understand the topic in order to move on to the next. this does not…

I believe tutors must be able to be patient and supportive to enable the students to stay encouraged through out every class. This I believe will allow the students to trust the tutor and thereby be come to ask doubts and questions. There are three most significant things that a tutor can do for a student. Firstly, the tutor should aid the student in mastering as much content knowledge as possible. Secondly, the tutor ought to help the student to build up his/her confidence, which is essential for the student to face learning and exams in the future. Without confidence, the…

Local Reviews

Ezy Math Tutoring have been extremely helpful and easy to deal with. Very professional with their communication and efforts to find the right tutors to fit my son's needs. The tutors themselves have made a big difference to my son's school performance and have always been reliable, knowledgeable, relatable and friendly. Highly Recommend.

Inside ChadstoneTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 3 Mason practiced reading comprehension by answering questions about short stories and tackled subtraction problems from his maths workbook, also focusing on letter formation in handwriting.

In Year 11, Ash reviewed dramatic techniques in Greek tragedy—exploring catharsis and the tragic hero—and studied leadership styles and organisational structures for business management using real-world examples.

Another session with Ash (Year 12) focused on applying business management concepts to exam-style case study scenarios, discussing how different organisational approaches impact outcomes.

Recent Challenges

A Year 12 student preparing for Business Management SACs struggled with time management, leaving some exam questions unfinished and rushing essay structure—"needed more precise argument progression," one note read.

In Psychology, another senior hesitated to put definitions in their own words, making revision less effective.

A Year 9 student's homework was repeatedly incomplete; when asked about it, they admitted motivation had dropped after missing earlier deadlines.

In Years 3–4 maths, several students avoided writing working for addition and subtraction problems ("did the maths in his head and couldn't explain reasoning"), leading to confusion and slow progress when faced with new question types.

Recent Achievements

Ash has started setting her own goals and now organises all her work ahead of time—something she hadn't done before—so she's fully prepared for assessments in business management.

In Year 11 English, another student who used to struggle with structuring essays was able to funnel her ideas into three clear topic sentences during an essay planning session.

Meanwhile, Mason managed to read two chapters aloud of an illustrated novel with minimal help after previously needing frequent prompting on each page.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Phoenix Park Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like Salesian College Chadstone.
