Biology Tutor Thirroul, NSW
I believe the most important things a biology tutor can do for a student are to tailor their approach, provide personalized attention, encourage and motivate, and build a relationship of trust. By adapting their teaching methods to suit the student, identifying areas where the student may be struggling and providing extra help and support where…

Biology Tutor Stanwell Park, NSW
I consider the tutors passion and enthusiasm towards a subject can have a positive impact on how the student receives the information. When a biology tutor is enthusiastic on the content they are teaching, this transfers to the student. I am patient and try to break down complex content ideas into manageable ideas. From experience, I have learnt…

Biology Tutor Woonona, NSW
I think a tutor should provide a fun, engaging and different approach to studying. A tutor should ask questions in a way a teacher hasn't got the time to do. They should always ask what the student wants and implement strategies as to how to attain these goals. But, perhaps at the forefront of responsibility, a tutor should always make sure the…

Biology Tutor Bulli, NSW
The most important thing a tutor can do for a student is to be an inspiration to them in achieving their milestones, tracking their progress, recording their scores and provide constructive feedbacks and reinforcement. To be dedicated in seeing a student's improvement by helping reach their full potential. My greatest strength being a tutor is…

Biology Tutor Woonona, NSW
A tutor is there to act as a friend and guide to help improve a students ability in their own learning and help encourage them to try and do their best and helping to teach them the skills necessary to do that I am patient and believe I can help suit any students teaching needs in order to help them learn in whatever way suits them best.…

Inside ColedaleTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 8 student James worked on solving simultaneous equations and practiced sketching graphs by hand to improve visual understanding.

In Year 10, Sarah focused on quadratic equations using both the quadratic formula and completing the square, as well as interpreting parabolas in context.

Meanwhile, Year 4 student Remi tackled multiplication and division skills alongside word problems and time questions during homework review.

Recent Challenges

In Year 10 algebra, one student repeatedly assumed the order of pronumerals matched previous questions, leading to errors—he didn't notice the change in variable order, as a tutor noted.

For a Year 7 student, exam stress resulted in confusion during factorisation tasks; skipped steps appeared when pressure mounted.

Meanwhile, a Year 8 English learner hesitated to read unfamiliar texts, preferring manga and resisting assigned readings for upcoming schoolwork.

In primary maths, a student avoided showing working out for subtraction problems, believing "the answer is enough by itself." This often made it difficult to trace mistakes or give targeted feedback.

Recent Achievements

One Coledale tutor noticed that a Year 10 student, after struggling with quadratic equations for weeks, was finally able to use the cross method independently and even identified common factors without prompting.

In another session, a Year 8 student who used to guess when stuck on word problems has started openly asking for help and quickly applied new strategies, especially with tricky income tax questions.

Meanwhile, a younger primary student who found reading aloud intimidating is now reading excerpts almost error-free from challenging books like "Meditations" and volunteers to tackle longer words without hesitation.

What they say about our tutoring

quote

The tutor (Grace) was excellent and I would highly recommend her to any client.

We are super happy with Kaia. Ella has been chosen in the top maths group for 2019/20! Her maths has improved out of sight! Ella is looking forward to working with Kaia in the new year.

We will definitely take it up again next year as it has been beneficial to the twins and their confidence has also grown. We have recommended Ezy Math Tutoring and Lewis to other parents as well.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Thirroul Branch Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like Coledale Public School.
