Just being there, being available for the students is a huge thing. When the student is really struggling and is really willing to learn and they come to me for help, i believe that is when the most learning is done, when the student wants to learn for themselves and i will make it my goal for the students to want to learn I'd like to think i'm a…

One of the most important things I can do for a student is to create a positive learning environment, which ensures they feel comfortable to ask questions and take the time that they need to properly understand a topic. The most important thing a tutor can do for a student is to firstly cover any doubts that they may have in their work, then to work on those doubts. A students doubts are the "walls" that stop them from fully understanding the questions that come at them and as a tutor it is important to both break down these walls that the student may have,…

The most important things a tutor can do for a student would be to guide and teach students to understand the core concepts and problems that arise from them. Accompanied by this, setting small goals will allow the student to be motivated, as well as providing encouraging support throughout the students learning. My strengths as a tutor would be…

I feel that understanding the student's moods and learning styles is very important for a tutor to teach effectively. A tutor should be able to provide confidence to the learner and be flexible in personalizing the support that they offer to the students/learners. I am resilient and adaptable. I focus more on the critical thinking and provide the…

I believe that instead of simply passing down knowledge to students, it is crucial to provide guidance to independent learning. Students cannot rely on tutors to help them do their work forever, so I believe that apart from teaching new learning strategies, it is also important for tutors to cultivate independence in their students. I believe that…

I believe, to be able to model curiosity, confidence, and a love for learning in my students is the most important thing I can do for them. I don't believe in the one-size-fits-all approach. I can make adjustments when certain approaches aren’t effective and, I'm not someone who will leave mid-conversation as soon as my time is up, I'm a…

the most important thing is to be approachable to students. I've always been hesitant to answer questions in class because I feared being wrong. At home when my parents asked me that same question, I answered without the fear of being wrong. The most important thing a tutor can do for a student is to understand a student's personality, behaviour and approach to learning. The tutor can alter the learning method to suit the individual student. A tutor needs to understand that all students are different; thus, the approach they use to teach them should also vary. For example, students…

I think a tutor's first goal should be to build a relationship and trust with each student by giving them individualized help and attention. And make the learning experience more unique by taking into account the student's interests, and highlighting their strengths while attempting to strengthen their weaknesses. And ultimately assist students in…

Inside Constitution HillTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 8 student Nathan worked on algebraic equations, including creating his own from worded problems, and also practised applying Pythagoras' theorem with a focus on clearly structuring working for assessment.

Year 9 student Olivia reviewed properties of angles and parallel lines to solve unknowns in triangles, alongside an introduction to linear relationships and basic graphing using diagrams.

For Year 4, Zoe explored perimeter concepts through real-world examples and reinforced basic counting strategies.

Recent Challenges

In Year 9 Maths, one student left homework incomplete last week, which stalled progress on new concepts—"homework from previous week had not been done which halted progress."

A Year 11 student showed a pattern of losing focus during exam-style questions, missing key details in worded problems and needing reminders to read each part carefully.

Meanwhile, in Year 4 Maths, another student completed a multiplication homework challenge but didn't show any working out in her book; this made it hard to identify where errors might have occurred or offer targeted feedback.

Recent Achievements

A tutor in Constitution Hill noticed a Year 10 student who had previously hesitated to ask questions now openly sought clarification on tricky angle properties, showing real initiative during problem-solving.

Another high school student worked through past test mistakes and, after focused review, avoided repeating those errors in their next assessment.

Meanwhile, a Year 3 student who used to rush homework took time this week to complete every task with care—her folder was neatly organised and she proudly shared her finished work at the start of the lesson.

What they say about our tutoring

quote

In regards to Manisha and the help she provided lsabella last year, my husband and I were very happy with the improvement in Isabella's maths results.  Manisha was able to explain things in a way that she could understand in a non judgemental way, gave her some great examples to work with and was available for questions any time.  Isabella's confidence in her maths improved as a result of all of Manisha's efforts. Before we came to you, Isabella disliked maths intensely and had no confidence in the subject.  The more comfortable she became, she was able to assist her classmates who were struggling. I would be more than happy to recommend Ezymath if the opportunity arises.

Devina is fantastic, I am so happy with Josh's progress to the point where he got the Maths award last week for his efforts!!!

Sean has a true talent for tutoring. James has bonded so well with him already, he looks forward to his sessions and already the class teacher has advised that he is understanding concepts better and may move him up a level in maths! I'm very happy with his progress. We are glad that Sean has picked up on James' difficulties and appreciate his genuine care for James' progress.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Wentworthville Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like Toongabbie East Public School.
