Engineering Studies Tutor Banora Point, NSW
Not just tutor them, but be a friend. By opening up and developing a closer bond to students, the students feel more comfortable and it doesn't become a tutoring session, but just a study session. I went through the course(s) myself quite recently, so I understand what's expected on the students, and what they need to do to excel and not only get…

Engineering Studies Tutor Currumbin Waters, QLD
The most important things that a tutor can do for a student is understand how a student learns things whether it is through wrote learning and memorisation, visual or physical learning and from that be able to teach the student content through a learning type that is best for a student. - Confident - Presentable - Patient & chill - which is a…

Inside CoolangattaTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 6 Bella completed English worksheets on sentence structure, abbreviations, homonyms, and onomatopoeia, and worked through maths questions involving time from the EzyMath textbook.

In Year 9, Jeremy focused on exam revision for trigonometry—finding side lengths or angles in right triangles—and practised expanding brackets and factorising in algebra.

Meanwhile, Year 10 Willow tackled simplifying and performing operations with fractions (adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing), as well as converting between mixed numbers and improper fractions using targeted written problems.

Recent Challenges

In Year 12, one student entered a session unprepared for in-depth exam questions, having only revised the basics; as noted, "I wasn't prepared for the in-depth exam questions," which meant valuable lesson time was spent covering foundational material instead of tackling complex problems.

A Year 9 student did not bring paper to a maths lesson and could not complete area calculations—missing resources limited hands-on practice.

In Year 7 algebra, skipping written steps led to sign errors that were hard to trace later.

For a Year 5 writing task, unclear paragraph structure made quiz responses difficult to follow and left key ideas buried.

Recent Achievements

A Coolangatta tutor noticed Jeremy, a high school student, is now tackling trigonometry and algebra independently—where he once hesitated, he now attempts problems on his own and only asks for help after trying different approaches.

Willow, also in high school, used to second-guess herself with fractions but recently completed a grade-level worksheet unaided and could explain her steps clearly.

In primary sessions, Bella has begun to proofread her English assignments without prompting; last week she caught two grammar errors herself by rereading her paragraph before submitting it.

What they say about our tutoring

quote

Maryanne was fantastic, the confidence I saw in my daughter this morning was amazing and that was only with one session. Thank you for sending Maryanne our way.

Matt was great with Gemma on Monday evening. We have booked Matt again for next Monday. Thankyou for all of your help.

I would like to thank you for a great opportunity working with Ezymath. It is a well organized company that provides many great resources such as the CEP modules and textbooks online. The administration is very helpful and cheerful. I have learnt plenty being a tutor both personally and professionally. I have also had the joy of meeting new and exciting students that I was lucky to teach.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Coolangatta Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like Hillcrest Christian College - Coolangatta Campus.
