English Tutor North Toowoomba, QLD
Listening carefully comes first. All other things can follow from listening. From listening I can understand their vocabulary, grammar level, sense of language and so forth. After this, I can firstly adapt my language to them and then secondly, design specific exercises to take students into better habits so that they can express themselves as…

A tutor can help a student develop the necessary skills,by which he can learn and understand by himself. Also, he can help identify the students weaknesses and provide alternatives by which the student can easily learn. I have patience and understanding. I also have excellent writing skills. Moreover, I like challenges and I love it when I can…

English Tutor Kearneys Spring, QLD
Not only is knowing the content extremely important, but the way tutors teach the content is more important. Every student has their own needs, and an english tutor must recognise that some teaching strategies might work for some but not work for others. My strengths is my teaching style. I believe my ability to connect with the student allows the…

English Tutor East Toowoomba, QLD
Building a deep connection with the student. Solving a problem together and clearly explaining why they went wrong and how it can be improved. This way the student can answer any problem with ease. I build a deep connection with the student and create custom analogies to make them clearly understadn the concept. I use active recall in my teaching…

English Tutor South Toowoomba, QLD
Allow students to build on previous knowledge and expand their knowledge in a fun way. I believe an english tutor can scaffold learning for the student so that they can gain confidence from incremental learning tasks. Patience and I am able to adapt to any student's learning style. Also I am able to prepare learning experiences to match the…

English Tutor Drayton, QLD
The most important things an english tutor can do for a student is to teach and help them to learn. The tutor should help the student develop their own skills by setting a good example. I have lots of patience when it comes to teaching. I never stop until the students got what the topic is all…

Inside Cotswold HillsTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 12 student Tom worked on annuities in Financial Mathematics and explored Earth Geometry, focusing on time zones and related calculations.

In Year 11, Bonnie tackled balancing redox reactions in Chemistry and applied natural logarithms within Maths Methods, occasionally using worked examples for clarity.

Meanwhile, Year 8 student Kagan revised area calculations of compound shapes and solved a range of worded area problems to strengthen spatial reasoning.

Recent Challenges

In Year 12 Chemistry, confusion arose over E₀ values and log function manipulation—one tutor noted, "Some clarification of E0 values needed; manipulation of log functions needs to be handled carefully."

A senior student faced setbacks after a computer crash wiped assignment progress, which led to lost work rather than refining ideas.

Meanwhile, a Year 6 learner repeatedly left homework unfinished and struggled with multiplication basics; as recorded: "Did not do any homework assigned."

Distraction also impacted a Year 4 session, with frequent loss of focus making it hard to complete written tasks before the lesson ended.

Recent Achievements

One Cotswold Hills tutor noticed a big shift with a Year 12 student who previously hesitated to act on feedback—this week, he recognised points raised in discussion and independently revised his assignment before submitting.

In another session, a Year 11 student working on investment problems began identifying key values in inequalities himself, rather than waiting for hints, showing new initiative.

Among younger students, one primary learner who used to avoid reading aloud is now choosing to do so more often during lessons. She picked up her book and read the next chapter out loud without prompting.

What they say about our tutoring

quote

We started yesterday and Dylan and Erin both seemed happy and got along quite nicely.

Boris is great, Amy has relaxed a bit since the first night. She seems to be going well, and she was very happy with herself as last night they covered year 8 maths which made her feel clever!

I have found your entire service from the first contact professional and friendly and will recommend both your organisation and Andrew to anyone who requires a maths tutor. . As I said earlier, I found Andrew both  diligant and effective in the few sessions we were able to fit in. Jesse's main comment was that 'He makes everything so easy to understand' which is really what tutoring is about.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Highfields Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like Fairview Heights State School.
