Info Processing Tutor Bennett Springs, WA
While the obvious role of a tutor would be to make a student fully understand the concepts that the tutor is teaching but I think making a student confident, developing communication skills and making them the best version of themselves are some of the quintessential roles of a tutor. I think I am good at being patient and being an active…

Inside EllenbrookTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 4 student Zariah worked through addition and subtraction using the split strategy and moved on to building confidence with two times tables and doubling.

Year 8 student Jayde focused on interpreting box-and-whisker plots, stem-and-leaf plots, and probability tree diagrams for upcoming assessments.

For Year 10, Arvin tackled financial mathematics by practicing compound and simple interest calculations alongside percentage increases and decreases, applying real-world scenarios for context.

Recent Challenges

A Year 8 student frequently guessed answers to worded percentage problems instead of working through each step; as noted, "she needs a bit of improvement with not guessing the answers and reading the question."

In Year 10 trigonometry, a student struggled when multiple triangles were involved in word problems, leading to confusion about which values to use.

A senior student tackling geometric series hesitated to attempt multi-step questions unless formulas were explicitly provided.

One primary learner skipped showing steps for column addition and subtraction—this often hid regrouping errors and slowed progress on more advanced tasks.

Recent Achievements

One Ellenbrook tutor noticed a big shift with a Year 9 student who used to rely heavily on answer sheets; now, she's tackling worksheet problems independently and only checks answers at the end.

In another high school session, a Year 10 boy who often rushed through algebra questions without understanding now slows down to break apart equations—he recently filled in a table of values accurately for the first time.

Meanwhile, a younger student who once hesitated to ask for help started raising her hand when stuck and even chose to read out loud during the lesson.

What they say about our tutoring

quote

We have been extremely happy with our tutor David, and will be recommending Ezy-Math to friends. Sharon (our daughter in Year 9) has moved up almost 50 marks in Maths and has gone from being a C student to an A student.  She received 92% for her yearly exams. We are also very happy with our two sons' improvements as well.

We are most pleased with Jonathan.  Jonathan is extremely diligent and personable.  Jack is surprisingly enjoying his sessions with Jonathan. So far the results exceed our expectations.

I would like to say that at this stage things are going very well, Gabriela is very confident and he has cleared up a lot of questions for her. She is very happy.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Ballajura Public Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like St Helena's Catholic Primary School.
